Inventory Profiles Next

Inventory Profiles Next is a client-side mod for Minecraft Java that replaces the default inventory system with one you can actually control. Available on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt, it adds one-key sorting for your personal inventory and any container you open, a slot-lock system that pins contents or empty spaces in place, auto-refill that swaps in a replacement when a tool breaks or food runs out, and gear set profiles you can switch between with a single keybind.

How to Install Inventory Profiles Next

For Fabric, install Fabric Loader first, then place all four JARs in your mods folder. Three are required dependencies and will cause a launch failure if missing:

• Fabric API
• Fabric Language Kotlin
• libIPN (the shared IPN library, available on Modrinth)

Mod Menu is optional on Fabric and adds an in-game config screen accessible from the mods list. For Forge or NeoForge, you only need libIPN alongside IPN. Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin are Fabric-only requirements and are not needed on other loaders.

• Auto-refill: when a tool reaches critical durability or food leaves your hand, IPN pulls a replacement from your inventory automatically.

• Throw all: dump your entire inventory into a container in a single action.
• Gear profiles: define multiple loadouts (armor, hotbar, held items) and switch between them via a keybind.
• Rebindable shortcuts: every action maps to its own configurable key.

Server and Multiplayer Compatibility

Inventory Profiles Next runs entirely on the client. No server-side component exists and no server installation is required. You can use it on any multiplayer server, including vanilla servers, Realms, and modded servers that do not have IPN installed. Removing the mod between sessions is safe and will not affect world saves.

• Works alongside JEI, REI, Mod Menu, Sodium, and most other client mods.
• No server installation or operator permission required.

Configuration

Open the config screen from Mod Menu or press the in-game config key (default R+C). Options include sort order (by item ID, name, or category grouping), auto-refill durability threshold, locked slot behavior, and gear profile management. Config is stored as a JSON file inside your Minecraft profile folder, so profiles and slot layouts transfer between instances.
