GlitchCore is a Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge library mod for Minecraft Java from Glitchfiend. It adds no gameplay on its own: Biomes O' Plenty and Serene Seasons both require it to load, along with Tough As Nails, sharing loader-abstraction code and small utilities across those mods. Install it on client and server alongside whichever of them you're running.
What GlitchCore does
GlitchCore centralizes code Glitchfiend's mods share: loader-specific hooks, registry helpers, and small utilities that would otherwise be duplicated in each mod. It has no items, no blocks, and no config menu of its own. Its only job is making the mods built on top of it run, so installing it by itself changes nothing in a world.
Mods that require GlitchCore
- Biomes O' Plenty, a biome-expansion mod, required on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge.
- Serene Seasons, a seasonal-cycle mod, required on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge.
- Tough As Nails, Glitchfiend's survival-difficulty mod, also built on GlitchCore.
How to install GlitchCore
- 1.Install Fabric Loader, Forge, or NeoForge for your Minecraft version.
- 2.Download the GlitchCore jar from Modrinth, matching your loader and Minecraft version.
- 3.On Fabric, also download Fabric API; Modrinth lists it as a required dependency for GlitchCore's Fabric builds.
- 4.Place the jar in your mods folder next to the mod that needs it, on both client and server, and launch.
Version support
GlitchCore's Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge builds are all current through Minecraft 26.2, the latest year.drop release, so none of the three loaders is trailing the others right now. Older builds reach back to 1.10.2 for legacy Forge installs.
Questions about GlitchCore.
5 questions
How do I install GlitchCore?
Install Fabric Loader, Forge, or NeoForge first, then download the matching GlitchCore jar from Modrinth and place it in your mods folder alongside the mod that needs it. On Fabric, Fabric API is also required. Install it on both client and server.
Which mods require GlitchCore?
Biomes O' Plenty and Serene Seasons both require GlitchCore on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, and Glitchfiend's Tough As Nails is built on it too. Check the dependency list on each mod's Modrinth page for the exact required version.
Does GlitchCore add any content to Minecraft by itself?
No. GlitchCore is shared library code with no items, blocks, or gameplay of its own. Installing it alone changes nothing in a world; it only exists to make Glitchfiend's other mods run.
Does GlitchCore work on multiplayer servers?
Yes. GlitchCore is required on both client and server for any mod that depends on it, since Biomes O' Plenty and Serene Seasons both need it on every side they're installed on themselves.
Which Minecraft version does GlitchCore support?
GlitchCore's Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge builds currently reach Minecraft 26.2. Older builds go back to 1.10.2 for legacy Forge installs, though most active use is on 1.20.1 and newer.
