Mythic Metals is a Minecraft Java content mod for Fabric that expands ore generation and gear progression with dozens of new metals, alloys, tools, weapons, and armor sets. It is required on both the client and the server, and the current release targets Minecraft 1.21.4, with earlier builds available back to 1.16.5. New ores generate across the Overworld, Nether, and End, then get smelted and combined into themed equipment through the companion Alloy Forgery mod.

What Mythic Metals adds

Each metal has its own tier and identity. Some are mined as ore, others are crafted by combining materials in an Alloy Forge, and a few come from world structures. The mod leans into variety, from explosive and melee weapons to fast mining tools and full armor sets with material traits.

  • Dozens of new ores and ingots spanning the Overworld, Nether, and End.
  • Alloy-based crafting that combines base metals into higher tiers.
  • Unique weapons and tools such as the Carmot Staff, Banglum, and Mythril Drill.
  • Armor sets with material-specific traits and smithing template upgrades.

Installation

  1. 1.Install the Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version.
  2. 2.Add Fabric API to your mods folder.
  3. 3.Add Alloy Forgery, which Mythic Metals needs for its alloy smelting recipes.
  4. 4.Place the Mythic Metals jar in the same mods folder.
  5. 5.Launch with the Fabric profile and explore fresh chunks to find the new ores.

Supported versions and loaders

  • Loader: Fabric.
  • Minecraft: the latest release builds for 1.21.4, with earlier builds back to 1.16.5.
  • Side: required on both client and server.
  • License: MIT.

Compatibility and notes

New ores only generate in newly explored chunks, so an existing world needs fresh terrain before its metals appear. Because the ores, blocks, and items are written into the save, removing Mythic Metals from a world that already contains them can leave gaps where those blocks and items used to be, so keep a backup before changing your mod list.

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install Mythic Metals?

Install the Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version, then drop Fabric API, Alloy Forgery, and the Mythic Metals jar into your mods folder. Launch the game with the Fabric profile. The mod adds its ores to chunks you generate after installing, so explore new terrain to start finding them.

  • Does Mythic Metals require Fabric API?

Yes. Mythic Metals depends on Fabric API and will not load without it. It also requires Alloy Forgery, which provides the alloy smelting station the mod uses to combine base metals into its higher tiers. Install both alongside the mod before launching.

  • Which Minecraft version does Mythic Metals support?

The current release is built for Minecraft 1.21.4. Older builds of the mod cover earlier versions back to 1.16.5, including 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.20.1, and 1.21.1. Match the mod file to your Minecraft version on the Modrinth page, since each build targets a specific range.

  • Does Mythic Metals work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. The mod is required on both the client and the server, so install the same version of Mythic Metals, Fabric API, and Alloy Forgery on every client and on the server itself. Mismatched versions between players and the server will usually prevent connection.

  • Is Mythic Metals available for Forge or NeoForge?

No. The project is published for the Fabric loader only. If you run Forge or NeoForge, you would need a different mod pack setup, since Mythic Metals does not ship a Forge or NeoForge build on its Modrinth page.
