Frostiful is a Vanilla+ temperature mod that rebuilds powder snow freezing into a full cold-weather survival system. It runs on Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge, and it must be installed on both the player's machine and the host in multiplayer. Expect more ways to freeze, new ways to warm up, and a new Illager faction built around frost.

What changes in play
Passive freezing, icicles and new enchantments now add to the powder snow threat. Fur armor, crafted from Fur Tufts, gives Frost Resistance. To recover, stand near a fire or a Sun Lichen-covered rock, or steal heat with Enervation. The mod also adds Ice Skates, three armor trims and Packed Snow.
Frostologers and the Frost Wand
Frostologers are a reworked Iceologer holding snowy fortresses in Snowy Plains and Ice Spikes biomes, backed by Chillagers with Glacial Arrows. They grow stronger while cold.
- Defeat a Frostologer to craft the Frost Wand, which freezes enemies in place.
- Beat an Ominous Frostologer Trial to earn the Cloak of Frostology, a cape that reverses freezing. You melt if you get too warm.
Configuration and compatibility
The config is extensive: disable environmental freezing, tweak values, or use datapacks for temperature effects. Hot Cocoa from Farmer's Delight provides the Warmth effect, and Enchantment Descriptions covers the new enchantments.
Installing it
- 1.Set up your loader, following the guide for Fabric or NeoForge.
- 2.Put the Frostiful file and every required library from the list above into the mods folder.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile. The newest release is still a beta.

Does Frostiful work in multiplayer?
Yes. Frostiful is required on both the player's machine and the host, so install it in both places. It is also built for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge, so each side needs a matching loader.
Can I use Frostiful with other temperature mods?
Not sensibly. Thermite and EnvironmentZ each add their own temperature system, which duplicates Frostiful's and will not integrate with it. Frostiful is designed to pair with Scorchful, its heat-based sister mod.
Can I turn off the freezing in Frostiful?
Yes. The config lets you disable environmental freezing completely, which suits players who want the Frostologers, fur armor and new items without the survival pressure. Datapacks can also change temperature effects and powder snow behavior.
Does Frostiful work on Bedrock?
No. Frostiful is a Java Edition mod for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge, and Bedrock cannot load loader-based mods.
