NoCollision is a Minecraft Java mod and data pack that removes collision from a few passive mobs, which raises FPS and TPS. It ships for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and also as a data pack. It is required on the server, and optional on the client.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.20.3 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
Install it as a mod or a data pack
NoCollision comes as a loader mod or as a data pack. For the mod route, see how to install mods on Java Edition.
- 1.Mod route: download the file for your loader and put it in the mods folder inside the game directory, then launch with that loader's profile.
What it changes
NoCollision removes collision from a few passive mobs. The creator reports less lag and stuttering after install, with the gain depending on the operating system. TPS improves more visibly than FPS.
Removing it cleanly
The data pack has its own uninstall routine. Run /reload and click the uninstall button, or run /function no_collision:uninstall.
Trade-offs
The page names only "a few passive mobs" and gives no list, so check how animals behave in your world before relying on it. The project links no public source code or issue tracker.
Questions about NoCollision.
3 questions
How do I install NoCollision?
For the mod, download the file that matches your loader (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt) and put it in the mods folder, then launch with that loader's profile. The data pack is also published as its own builds. It is required on the server and optional on the client.
How do I uninstall the NoCollision data pack?
Run /reload and click the uninstall button, or run /function no_collision:uninstall. Then delete the data pack from the world folder. If you leave it there, the next world reload applies it again and you have to uninstall it a second time.
Does NoCollision improve FPS or TPS?
Both, according to the creator. The difference is more noticeable in TPS than in FPS, and the size of the gain varies with the operating system. The page gives no benchmark numbers, only a before and after description of lag and stuttering.
