Pick Up Notifier is a utility mod for Minecraft Java Edition on Fabric and NeoForge. Forge builds exist but have stopped. It tracks everything you collect and shows it in a compact on-screen list: items, experience and recovered arrows. It is required on the client and optional on the server.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19 to 1.20.4, builds stopped after February 2024. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port, optionally Forge Config Screens; builds for 1.19 to 1.20.1 require Puzzles Lib.
What the notification list shows
Entries update in real time as you mine, farm, explore or fight. Similar pickups merge into one line, and an existing entry refreshes when you collect more of the same thing. Each entry fades and slides off screen after a short delay instead of vanishing abruptly.

Configuration
The list is built to be reshaped. You can change its screen position, scale, colours, backgrounds and spacing, plus how long entries stay visible, how many show at once and how they are grouped. On Fabric, in-game settings need Mod Menu by Prospector. Otherwise edit the TOML files in .minecraft/config, named with the mod ID and a client, common or server suffix.
Installation
- 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for the Minecraft release you play.
- 2.Put the mod file and every required library file into the mods folder, including Puzzles Lib, which both current loaders need.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile. Add the mod on a dedicated server only if you want it there.

Does Pick Up Notifier work on vanilla servers?
Yes. The mod is required on the client and optional on the server, so you can install it yourself and join a vanilla server without the server having anything. It also works in singleplayer and on modded servers.
Does Pick Up Notifier still support Forge?
Forge builds stopped in February 2024 at Minecraft 1.20.4. Current development targets Fabric and NeoForge, so players who want recent releases should use one of those loaders instead.
How do I change where the pick up list appears?
Open the mod's settings in game, which on Fabric needs Mod Menu, or edit the client TOML file in .minecraft/config. Position, scale, colours, display time and the number of visible entries are all adjustable.
