PneumaticCraft: Repressurized is a technology mod for NeoForge and Forge that builds a machine age on compressed air. It is a port of the original PneumaticCraft, made by desht_08 with the support of MineMaarten, the original author. It covers power, crafting, drones and base defence, and files are tagged for both sides, so it works in single-player and multiplayer.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally ConnectedTexturesMod and Patchouli; builds for 1.20.1 require Patchouli.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.14.4 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Patchouli; some builds for 1.14.4 to 1.18.1 need no dependencies.
How the air system works
Power comes from compressed air rather than a generic energy unit. Machines and tools store air by quantity, but many operations depend on pressure, which follows from the machine's volume and the air stored. Compressors burn anything a vanilla furnace burns, run on refined liquid fuel, use lightning strikes, or convert FE and EU. A heat mechanic sits alongside: some machines need heat, and some compressors produce heat that has to be dissipated.
Oil generates in the world and refines into fuels, some of very high quality. Fuels from Thermal, EnderIO and Immersive Petroleum also work.
What you can build
- Five crafting methods: explosion crafting, pressure chamber crafting, refining, thermopneumatic processing and the assembly line.
- Fully programmable drones, written in a graphical programming language, that can automate nearly any task.
- Item logistics through pressure tubes or drones.
- Base defence, from a hand-held minigun and minigun turrets to minigun drones and a Security Station that controls who may enter.
- An upgradable armour suite with a flight mechanic.
- Utility machines such as the Universal Sensor, Vortex Cannon, Gas Lift, elevators with nameable floors and the Aerial Interface.
The trade-off is breadth. Pressure, heat, oil and drone programming are separate systems, and each takes time to learn. Recipes for the crafting methods can be changed with datapacks, KubeJS or CraftTweaker on 1.14.4 and later.
Installation and documentation
Pick the file that matches your loader and release, drop it into the mods folder along with any required library, and launch with that loader's profile. Install it for both players and the hosting machine in multiplayer. In-game documentation runs through Patchouli. Video tutorials for the original 1.7.10 PneumaticCraft still largely apply, except that modern releases make plastic from oil, not plants. Bug reports go to the GitHub issue tracker, and general questions to the Discord.

Questions about PneumaticCraft: Repressurized.
4 questions
Can I change PneumaticCraft Repressurized recipes in a modpack?
Yes. The crafting mechanisms (explosion crafting, pressure chamber, refining, thermopneumatic processing and the assembly line) can be reconfigured with datapacks, KubeJS or CraftTweaker on 1.14.4 and later. On 1.12.2 only CraftTweaker works. The mod page also says you are welcome to include the mod in your modpack.
Does PneumaticCraft Repressurized work in multiplayer?
Yes. Its files are tagged for both sides, so install it for the players and on the machine that hosts the world. Pick the file that matches your loader and release, and add any required library alongside it. In-game documentation runs through Patchouli.
What fuels work in PneumaticCraft compressors?
Solid fuel compressors burn anything a vanilla furnace can burn. Liquid fuel compressors use fuels refined from the oil the mod generates in the world, and some of those fuels are of very high quality. Fuels from Thermal, EnderIO and Immersive Petroleum also work. Other options are lightning strikes and FE or EU compressors.
Does modern PneumaticCraft still use plastic plants?
No. Modern releases use oil, not plastic plants, to make plastic. Many video tutorials for the original 1.7.10 PneumaticCraft are still largely relevant, but this is the main difference to watch for when following an older guide.
