What SimpleVoice-Geyser works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric |
| Minecraft versions | 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 |
SimpleVoice-Geyser is a plugin and Fabric mod that lets Bedrock players on Geyser servers join Simple Voice Chat through a web page, with no mods to install. It works alongside Simple Voice Chat and extends it rather than replacing it. Builds exist for Fabric, Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.21.11 to 26.2. The newest build requires Simple Voice Chat, optionally LuckPerms, Floodgate and Geyser; some builds for 26.1 to 26.2 require Simple Voice Chat and Geyser.
How the web voice chat works
Bedrock players cannot install Simple Voice Chat's mod, so this project moves the connection into a browser. Website users get 3D audio. Microphone and speaker options may not work in every browser, because it was built for Google Chrome.
- Smart detection can block Java players from the website voice chat.
- Java players without the Simple Voice Chat mod can also join through the web page.
- The interface is editable, so you can customise what players see.
- Floodgate and Geyser tell Bedrock and Java players apart, and LuckPerms hooks in for permissions on Fabric.
- An optional chat box lets Bedrock players send text in-game.
Installation
- 1.Install Simple Voice Chat 2.6.0 or later on the server. It must run there.
- 2.Take the build for your platform and put it in the plugins or mods folder of the server. New to Fabric? Read the Fabric setup guide first.
- 3.Start the server, then point the config at your Simple Voice Chat setup using the wiki's installation page.
- 4.To update, replace the old file with the new one.
Trade-offs
This is a work-around, not a drop-in for Simple Voice Chat, so Bedrock players talk through a browser tab instead of in-game controls. Features such as an external web server and Velocity support are still planned.
Questions about SimpleVoice-Geyser.
4 questions
Do Bedrock players need to install a mod to use it?
No. Bedrock players connect through a web page in their browser, so no mods are needed on their device. The project is built for servers that use Geyser, with Geyser and Floodgate listed as optional integrations.
Does SimpleVoice-Geyser replace Simple Voice Chat?
No. It is not a drop-in for Simple Voice Chat and works alongside it. Simple Voice Chat 2.6.0 or later must run on the server, and SimpleVoice-Geyser connects the browser users to that voice chat.
Can Java players without the voice chat mod join too?
Yes. It can let Java players without the Simple Voice Chat mod join through the same web page. Smart detection can also block Java players from the website voice chat if you would rather they use the mod.
Is the voice traffic encrypted?
Audio from the client to the server is not encoded. If players connect across several networks, place the web page behind a proxy so it is served over HTTPS instead of plain HTTP.
