What YUNG's Menu Tweaks works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric, NeoForge |
| Minecraft versions | 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.21.4, 26.1.2 |
| Environment | Client |
YUNG's Menu Tweaks is a lightweight Java mod that makes moving through menus a little easier. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge, applies on the player's side only, and covers right-click cycling, scroll-wheel sliders and custom backgrounds. Forge builds exist too, but they have stopped.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Cloth Config API, Fabric API and YUNG's API, optionally Mod Menu.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires YUNG's API.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1, builds stopped after February 2025. The newest build requires YUNG's API.
What it changes
- Right-click a cycle button to go back to the previous option.
- Use the mouse scroll wheel to change slider options.
- Replace the background of almost every options screen with any texture, so the dirt tile is no longer fixed.
The custom background is off by default. Some modded menu layouts end up with invisible buttons when it is on, so switch it on only if your menus still look right. The creator also takes feature ideas through Discord.
Compatibility with other menu mods
The mod is meant to work alongside any menu-changing mod, including Mod Menu. Two caveats are named. Custom main menus made with FancyMenu sometimes fail with the custom background option. The custom Video Settings screen from Sodium may not support the new navigation features, so scroll and right-click tweaks can be missing there.
Installation
Place the mod file for your loader in the mods folder of your install along with every required library. YUNG's API is needed on all loaders. Fabric also needs Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional. Launch with the loader's profile and the new behaviour applies to the options screens.
Questions about YUNG's Menu Tweaks.
4 questions
Does YUNG's Menu Tweaks work on multiplayer servers?
It is a player-side mod, so you install it on your own machine only. A multiplayer host does not support it and does not need it. It changes how you use menus, not how the world runs.
Is YUNG's Menu Tweaks compatible with Sodium and FancyMenu?
It is meant to work with menu-changing mods, but there are two caveats. Sodium's custom Video Settings screen may not support the new navigation features. Custom FancyMenu main menus may not work with the custom background option.
Why are buttons invisible after enabling the custom background?
Some modded menu layouts clash with the custom background option and can leave buttons invisible. That is why the option is disabled by default.
Does YUNG's Menu Tweaks work on Forge?
Forge builds exist, but they have stopped, and newer releases target Fabric and NeoForge. On Forge you are limited to the older builds, so Fabric or NeoForge is the safer choice for current play.
