The DonateCase plugin adds donation cases to Java Edition servers running Paper, Purpur or Spigot. Players spend keys to open a case and watch an animated prize reveal. It is a server-side plugin, so players need nothing installed.

Server software and versions

  • Paper, Purpur and Spigot: Minecraft 1.16 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What DonateCase does

Admins place a case on a block, define its prizes and decide how the opening plays out. The GUI and the case layout are fully customisable, and the text can be localised.

  • Several opening animations, each with its own settings
  • Opening history
  • MySQL storage support
  • Head sources such as PlayerHeads, HeadDataBase and ItemsAdder

Commands and permissions

Everything runs through /dc. Three permission nodes cover the roles, so a permissions plugin such as LuckPerms is the easy way to hand them out.

  • donatecase.player covers /dc help, /dc keys and /dc opencase
  • donatecase.mod adds viewing other players' keys plus givekey, setkey and delkey
  • donatecase.admin grants every command, including create, delete, reload and addon management

Addons and placeholders

Placeholders for key counts, opening counts and history work through PlaceholderAPI. Hologram displays are supported through DecentHolograms, FancyHolograms or HolographicDisplays. Separate addons from the same ecosystem add free keys, physical keys, gifting between friends, prize previews and Discord webhook notices.

Installation

  1. 1.Download the plugin file from Modrinth.
  2. 2.Drop it into the plugins folder of your Paper, Purpur or Spigot server. The plugin installation guide covers the details.
  3. 3.Restart the server, then use /dc create while looking at a block to place your first case.
  4. 4.Run /dc reload after editing the config.

Questions about DonateCase.

5 questions

How do I install DonateCase?

Place the plugin file in the plugins folder of a Paper, Purpur or Spigot server and restart. Then look at a block and run /dc create with a case type and name to set up your first case. Players join with a normal client.

Does DonateCase need any other plugins?

The newest release requires no dependencies. Integrations such as PlaceholderAPI, LuckPerms, Vault and hologram plugins are supported, but you add them only if you want those features.

Which permissions does DonateCase use?

It uses three nodes. donatecase.player lets players open cases and check their keys, donatecase.mod adds key management for staff, and donatecase.admin unlocks every command, including creating and deleting cases.

Can I give players keys for cases?

Yes. Staff with the right permission use /dc givekey with a player, case and key amount. There are also /dc setkey to set a value and /dc delkey to remove a player's keys.

Is DonateCase free to use?

Yes. The source code is on GitHub under an MIT licence, which allows use, modification and redistribution. You can download the plugin from Modrinth.
