EvenMoreFish is a fishing plugin for Paper and Folia that turns fishing into a system of competitions, rarities, baits and a fish shop. It grew out of elsiff's MoreFish plugin and ships with over 70 fish by default. It is server-side only, so players join as usual and install nothing.
Server software and versions

Competitions and custom fish
Admins start competitions by hand or on a schedule, each with its own length. When the timer ends, the leaderboard wins rewards you define. A bossbar with a configurable colour shows the time left to everyone online.
As of v2.0.0 there are 8 competition types, including largest fish, most fish, longest total length, smallest fish, fewest fish, first to catch a given rarity or fish, and a random pick of those. Each fish can carry its own item, length, message, potion effect and reward when caught, eaten or sold. Fish can be limited to biomes or regions through WorldGuard or RedProtect.
Baits, shop and placeholders
Baits raise the odds of catching chosen fish or rarities. Players find them while fishing, and admins hand them out with /emf admin bait. The fish shop lets players sell catches at prices you set, and items dropped when an inventory closes or the server stops are returned at the player's feet. Competition standings can feed holograms through PlaceholderAPI, with the full list on the wiki.
Permissions and commands
- emf.admin covers admin commands such as /emf admin reload and /emf admin competition.
- emf.shop, emf.top and emf.toggle cover /emf shop, /emf top and /emf toggle.
- emf.use_rod is only needed when requires-fishing-permission is set to true in config.yml.
Installation
- 1.Run a Paper or Folia server on Java 21.
- 2.Put the plugin file in the plugins folder.
- 3.Restart the server.
- 4.Join with a normal client. Players install nothing.
