FurnitureLib is a library for Paper, Spigot, Folia and Purpur servers that handles 3D models built from armor stands. It sends them as packets rather than ordinary entities, which the author designed to avoid lag. It runs on the server only, and players join with a normal client.
Server software and versions
- Folia and Paper: Minecraft 1.11.2 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Spigot: Minecraft 1.9 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Purpur: Minecraft 1.12 to 1.21.11. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Bukkit: Minecraft 1.12 to 1.21.3, builds stopped after November 2024. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it does
The plugin spawns models from entities to decorate a server with vanilla models. The author lists addons built on it: FurnitureMaker, DiceFurniture, DiceGraveStoneOfDeath, FurnitureLib in GUI, Graves and the premium Selection Visualizer.
ProtectionLib is an optional module that ships inside the FurnitureLib zip. It hooks into protection plugins such as PlotSquared and WorldGuard. It checks whether a player owns the plot or region, or is trusted there, and grants furniture building rights on that land automatically.
Installation
- 1.Put ProtocolLib in the plugins folder first. The setup instructions ask for it.
- 2.Pick the file that matches your server software and its Minecraft release.
- 3.Drop FurnitureLib into the plugins folder and start the server.
- 4.Optionally add Vault and LightAPI. Both are listed as optional dependencies.
Limits to know
Support for 1.8 ended when the library was rewritten for 1.9, because Mojang changed item positions on entities and some models looked wrong. Bukkit builds have also stopped, so use Paper, Spigot, Folia or Purpur. The README is still marked work in progress, so the wiki and issue tracker are the places to check for specifics.
Questions about FurnitureLib.
4 questions
What is FurnitureLib used for?
FurnitureLib is a library plugin that spawns decorative 3D models made of armor stands and sends them as packets. Its author designed this approach to avoid lag. The author lists addons such as FurnitureMaker and DiceFurniture that build on it.
Does FurnitureLib need ProtocolLib?
The setup instructions and the project summary both say ProtocolLib must be in the plugins folder. Vault and LightAPI are optional extras. ProtectionLib, the region-protection module, is optional and ships inside the FurnitureLib zip.
Does FurnitureLib work on Folia?
Yes. Folia builds exist and the newest one is 3.3.2. Paper, Spigot and Purpur are covered too. Bukkit builds have stopped, so choose one of the other server types for current releases.
Can Bedrock players see FurnitureLib furniture through Geyser?
Not by default. The default settings turn off all furniture models for Bedrock players, because Bedrock armor stand positioning is too limited to place the models correctly.
