InvSee++ is a Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, and Spigot plugin from developer Jannyboy11 that lets server staff remotely view and edit a player's inventory, ender chest, armor, and off-hand item. It works even when the target player is offline, or has never joined the server before. InvSee++ ships as a single jar covering Minecraft Java Edition 1.8.8 through 26.2 and needs no other plugin installed to run.

What InvSee++ lets staff do

  • View and edit a player's main inventory, armor slots, off-hand item, and ender chest
  • See the item stack a player is currently holding on their cursor
  • Inspect open crafting, workbench, anvil, smithing table, stonecutter, grindstone, loom, enchanting table, and merchant slots
  • Spectate offline players, including ones who have never logged into the server
  • Auto-reload the spectator view when the target player relogs
  • Customize inventory titles and layouts through the plugin's configuration

Installing InvSee++

Drop the InvSee++.jar file into the server's /plugins folder and restart. No dependencies are required, and no separate configuration step is needed for the base plugin to start working.

Commands and permissions

  • /invsee <username|uuid> — spectate a player's inventory
  • /endersee <username|uuid> — spectate a player's ender chest
  • /invseeplusplusreload — reload the plugin's configuration
  • invseeplusplus.invsee.view and invseeplusplus.invsee.edit — view or edit access to /invsee, granted to operators by default
  • invseeplusplus.endersee.view and invseeplusplus.endersee.edit — view or edit access to /endersee, granted to operators by default
  • invseeplusplus.exempt.invsee and invseeplusplus.exempt.endersee — exempt a player from being spectated

Pair these permission nodes with a dedicated permissions plugin like LuckPerms to hand edit access to trusted staff ranks without making them full server operators.

Optional integrations and addons

PerWorldInventory integration is optional. It requires load-data-on-join set to true in that plugin's config, and is only needed on servers running per-world inventories. Two separate addons extend the base plugin: InvSee++_Give adds /invgive and /endergive to hand offline players items by command, and InvSee++_Clear adds /invclear and /enderclear to remove items from an offline player's inventory or ender chest. Servers that already log block and inventory changes with CoreProtect get an audit trail of what a staff member changed after opening /invsee.

Supported server software and Minecraft versions

InvSee++ runs on CraftBukkit and its forks, including Paper, Purpur, and Spigot, as well as Glowstone. The current release is a single jar that spans Minecraft Java Edition 1.8.8 through 26.2, so most servers can run the newest build regardless of which of those versions they are on.

Questions about InvSee++.

5 questions

Is InvSee++ the same plugin as InvSee?

No. InvSee++ is a distinct project by Jannyboy11, first released in 2020. Several other tools use the name InvSee or Invsee, including an older Bukkit plugin, a separate Bedrock inventory-viewer addon, and another Paper plugin, all by different developers. Confirm the page names Jannyboy11 as the creator before installing.

How do I install InvSee++ on a Paper or Spigot server?

Download the InvSee++.jar file from Modrinth and place it in the server's /plugins folder, then restart the server. The plugin needs no other plugin installed and creates its own configuration automatically.

Does InvSee++ work on Folia?

No. Folia support is not implemented and is tracked as an open issue on the project's GitHub repository. InvSee++ does run on Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Glowstone.

Does InvSee++ need a permissions plugin?

No. Server operators get full access to InvSee++'s commands by default through built-in permission nodes. A permissions plugin like LuckPerms is only needed to grant those nodes to non-operator staff.

Which Minecraft version does InvSee++ support?

The current release is one jar covering Minecraft Java Edition 1.8.8 through 26.2, including the 1.20.x through 1.21.x releases and the 26.1 and 26.2 year.drop updates. Check the Modrinth versions page before installing on an unusual or very old build.
