Visible Trades is a Bedrock resource pack that shows what a villager sells before those trades unlock. It works with all villager classes and is tagged x16 on CurseForge. It lists no required mods or companion packs, so it is a drop-in change for the trade screen.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 0.16 to 26.50.

What changes in the trade screen

The pack's whole job is to put a villager's locked trades in view. You can judge a villager before you spend time levelling it, instead of finding out one tier at a time.

Nothing else is advertised. The pack does not claim to retexture blocks, mobs or menus beyond the trade list, so expect the rest of your setup to look the same.

How to install Visible Trades

  1. 1.Open the CurseForge page and get the pack file.
  2. 2.Open the .mcpack or .mcaddon file with Minecraft. On Windows, double-click it. On phones and tablets, choose to open it with Minecraft.
  3. 3.Create or edit a world, then switch Visible Trades on under Resource Packs in the world's settings.
  4. 4.Load the world and open a villager's trade screen.

If the import stalls, how to install add-ons on Bedrock walks through each platform. For a pack that imports but never shows up in the world, see fixing add-ons that do not work.

Known limitations

The trade-off is scope. This is a single-purpose pack with no documented options, so you take it as it is. Its licence is also unstated on CurseForge, and the creator's page reserves all rights, which makes the CurseForge page the right place to get it.

3 questions

How do I install Visible Trades?

Get the file from the CurseForge page and open it with Minecraft on Bedrock, which imports it. Then create or edit a world, find Resource Packs in the world's settings and activate Visible Trades. Open any villager's trade screen to see the trades listed.

Is Visible Trades available for Java?

No. It is a Bedrock resource pack, and Java cannot load Bedrock add-ons or packs. The CurseForge listing sits in the Bedrock texture packs section, and it makes no claim of a Java port.

Which villagers does Visible Trades work with?

The creator states it works with all villager classes. The pack's purpose is to let you see a villager's trades before unlocking them, whatever its profession. It lists no extra requirements or companion mods.
