Lumeau is a lightweight, semi-realistic and vanilla-like shader pack for Minecraft Java that runs on Iris. It keeps the familiar vanilla colour palette and adds shifting sunlight, crisp shadows and simple waves. It works on the player's side only.
Shader loaders and versions
- Iris: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 26.2.
What Lumeau changes
Neoz30 aimed for a simple, pleasing look that stays close to vanilla colours, with a few personal tweaks.
- Sunlight shifts with the sun angle, red-orange at sunrise and sunset, yellow-white at noon.
- Moonlight is subtle and white.
- Shadows are clear and crisp, with no blur by default. The blur can be changed in the settings menu.
- Waves are simple, and there are no water reflections yet.
- The end portal gets a shader that makes it look 3D.
Performance and trade-offs
Lumeau is built to hold a good frame rate on old hardware. Neoz30 develops it on a GTX 960, and Modrinth tags it low and potato. The trade-off is a modest feature set. Water has no reflections, and the newest release is still a 1.2 beta.
Installation
- 1.Install Iris together with Sodium, which Lumeau needs to run.
- 2.Put the Lumeau .zip in the shaderpacks folder inside your .minecraft folder.
- 3.Start the game, open Video Settings, then Shader Packs, and select Lumeau.
Questions about Lumeau.
4 questions
Is Lumeau good for low-end PCs?
Yes, that is its stated goal. Neoz30 built Lumeau to run at a good frame rate on old hardware and develops it on a GTX 960. Modrinth lists it under the low and potato performance tags. Results still depend on your own system and settings.
Does Lumeau need Sodium?
Yes. The creator states that Lumeau uses Sodium and Iris to run. Install both, place the shader .zip in the shaderpacks folder, then pick Lumeau from the Shader Packs screen in Video Settings.
Does Lumeau have water reflections?
Not yet. Waves are simple and the creator notes there is no reflection for now. Shadows are crisp by default, sunlight changes colour through the day, and the end portal is shaded to look 3D.
Does Lumeau work on Bedrock?
No. Lumeau is a Java shader pack that depends on Iris and Sodium, and both are Java mods. Bedrock cannot run them, so this pack is not usable there.
