Adventure Condiment is a Bedrock survival addon that adds a thirst bar and a body temperature system, the pairing people search for as adventure condiment thirst and temperature. Biomes set the heat or cold a player absorbs, and armor decides how much of it gets through. It also adds gravestones, knockout and revive in multiplayer, and zombie infection. It relies on companion packs, so check the list below before importing.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21.90 to 26.0. The newest build requires UI Queue and Forging Table, optionally Novelty API.

What it adds

  • A thirst bar, a soaked indicator, a temperature resistance bar, burnt and frozen heart overlays, and a body temperature readout.
  • Winter and Desert armor sets with the same defense as leather armor.
  • A diving helmet, an upgraded turtle helmet with an oxygen tank for longer underwater trips.
  • A thermometer (equipping it in the charm slot needs the Novelty addon) and heated stone, which keeps you warm in the inventory and recharges in a furnace.
  • Fabric and a sewing tool, used at the forging table to add temperature attributes to armor.
  • A water flask, plus hot and cool drinks that shift your temperature for 8 minutes and can be purified with milk.

How survival changes

Thirst drains with temperature, status effects and food. Below 3 bars the screen shows a thirst effect. Refill by punching water, or by drinking a water flask or water bottle. Temperature comes from biome conditions, so custom biomes work with it. How fast it sets in depends on how soaked you are and on your armor's insulation.

Dying leaves a gravestone that only its owner can open, and it also holds accessory items such as Novelty's. In multiplayer a downed player is knocked out and revived by a teammate who sneaks nearby. A zombie can infect you, and dying while infected spawns a zombie of you. Addon authors can hook their own drinks and armor in through the adventure_condiment:thirst and adventure_condiment:temperature components.

Installation

  1. 1.Import the addon's packs and its companion packs by opening the files with Bedrock. The add-on install guide covers the steps.
  2. 2.Open the world settings and switch on both the behavior pack and the resource pack under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs.
  3. 3.Enable the companion packs in the same world, then load in.

If packs fail to load, the troubleshooting guide lists the usual causes. The trade-off is clutter, since the extra HUD elements and pack requirements make this heavier than a simple hydration tweak.

Questions about Adventure Condiment.

4 questions

How do I restore thirst in Adventure Condiment?

Punch water to drink directly, or use a water flask or water bottle. The flask holds filtered drinking water. Thirst also drains faster with temperature, status effects and food, and below 3 bars the screen shows a thirst effect.

Does Adventure Condiment work with custom biomes?

Yes. Temperature is determined by biome conditions, which makes the system compatible with custom biomes. Armor insulation and how soaked the player is control how quickly that temperature is absorbed.

How do I protect myself from heat and cold?

Wear Winter or Desert armor, or add temperature attributes to other armor using fabric and the sewing tool at the forging table. Heated stone in the inventory keeps you warm, and hot or cool drinks shift your temperature for 8 minutes.

Can other addons add their own drinks or armor to this system?

Yes. Addon authors can add the adventure_condiment:thirst component to a drink item and the adventure_condiment:temperature component to armor, setting values such as temperature resistance and insulation.
