Player in cyan armor with durability bars and armor HUD elements from Durability Armor Viewer.

Durability Armor Viewer, shortened to DAV by its creator dimzcraft, is a Bedrock addon that puts your armor and offhand item on the HUD. Each slot shows durability or stack count. It ships as a .mcaddon file, and builds cover Bedrock 1.20.40 to 1.21.130.

What it adds

You choose the layout through subpacks, and you can show the offhand slot only or armor only.

  • Default layout
  • Layout beside the hotbar
  • Layout in the same style as the hotbar

Versions and dependencies

  • The newest build, v2.1.0 (2025-12-20), covers 1.21.120 to 1.21.130 and requires UI Neck. The addon does not work without it.
  • Seven older builds cover 1.20.40 to 1.21.122 and require no other pack.

If you play on an older version, pick the build that matches it. Newer versions need the extra download.

How to install Durability Armor Viewer

Open the .mcaddon with Minecraft to import it, then switch on its behavior and resource packs in the world settings. Add UI Neck the same way if your build needs it. The install guide covers the steps in full.

Adding custom armor

  1. 1.Wear the armor in game, type /setting, press the armor button and note the identifier.
  2. 2.Open dav/ui/dimz_modules/durability_armor_viewer/item_id.json in the resource pack folder.
  3. 3.Add a line inside the list, for example "#example:dimz_helmet": "textures/items/example_helmet".
  4. 4.Test it in game.

The creator also takes requests to support other custom armor addons through Discord.

Questions about Durability Armor Viewer.

5 questions

How do I install Durability Armor Viewer on Bedrock?

Open the downloaded .mcaddon file with Minecraft and it imports automatically. Then open your world's settings and activate the addon under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs. If you use the newest build, install and activate UI Neck too, since the addon does not work without it.

Which Minecraft version does Durability Armor Viewer support?

Builds span Bedrock 1.20.40 to 1.21.130. The newest build, v2.1.0, targets 1.21.120 to 1.21.130, while seven older builds cover 1.20.40 to 1.21.122. Choose the build that matches your game version, because the requirements differ between them.

Does Durability Armor Viewer need UI Neck?

The newest build does. It lists UI Neck as a required dependency and will not work without it. The seven older builds for 1.20.40 to 1.21.122 require no other pack, so players on those versions can install the addon on its own.

Does Durability Armor Viewer show enchant glint or armor trims?

No. The addon uses images instead of a renderer because JSON UI is limited, so it cannot display enchant glint or armor trims. It also ignores custom armor until you add the item identifier and texture path to item_id.json in the resource pack.

Can I show only the offhand or only armor?

Yes. The addon lets you show the offhand slot only or armor only. You pick the layout through subpacks, with the default, a placement beside the hotbar, and a style matching the hotbar as options.
