Hammer Time is a Bedrock addon that adds five tool families built to speed up repetitive Survival work: hammers, great swords, great axes, sickles and great shovels. It is inspired by the Java mod of the same name and arrives as a single .mcaddon file. Settings are stored per player, so everyone on a world can tune their own tools.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21.82 to 26.30.

What it adds

  • Hammers for area mining, tunnel mining and vein mining.
  • Great swords with knockback and cleave (sweeping) attacks.
  • Great axes that fell trees quickly, with a configurable log limit and optional diagonal connections.
  • Sickles for leaf clearing, crop harvesting and auto replant.
  • Great shovels for area digging, paths and farmland.

Mining modes and preview

Hammers switch between three modes. Area mining breaks 1x1, 3x3, 5x5 or 7x7 blocks at once. Tunnel mining digs a passage with configurable size and depth. Vein mining processes connected ores up to a maximum you set. Sneak and Use on a block to change mode without opening the configuration menu.

A real-time preview shows which blocks the current mode will affect on walls, floors and ceilings before you break anything. Density, maximum distance and update frequency are adjustable, and the preview does not restart your block-breaking progress. Fortune, Silk Touch and Unbreaking work when several blocks are processed. Safe Mining can limit breakage to blocks of the same type and protect nearby ores, which is off by default.

Installation

  1. 1.Get the .mcaddon file from the CurseForge page and open it with Bedrock (double-click on Windows, open with Minecraft on phones and tablets).
  2. 2.Create or edit a world and turn on Hammer Time in the world's settings, under Behavior Packs or Resource Packs, wherever it is listed.
  3. 3.Sneak and use a hammer while looking at a block to switch modes.

The general steps are covered in how to install add-ons on Bedrock. If the pack does not appear or load, try fixing add-ons that do not work.

Compatibility

The addon needs no experimental features, does not use player.json and is listed as Realms compatible and compatible with other add-ons.

Questions about Hammer Time.

4 questions

Does Hammer Time work on Realms?

The creator lists Hammer Time as Realms compatible. It needs no experimental features and does not use player.json.

Does Hammer Time need experimental toggles?

No. The addon states that no experimental features are required, so you can enable the packs on a world without touching the Experiments switches. Its settings are handled through the in-game configuration instead.

How do I switch hammer modes?

Sneak and use the hammer while looking at a block to switch between hammer modes. This avoids opening the configuration menu each time. Mining size, tunnel depth and vein limits are set in the configuration.

Is Hammer Time the same as the Java mod?

No. The Bedrock addon is inspired by the Java mod of the same name, but it is a separate .mcaddon made by SystemTv. Java Edition cannot load Bedrock add-ons.
