Java Zoom is a Bedrock addon from RisabGamerz that zooms the camera in while you crouch, so far-off things are easier to see. It ships as a single .mcpack.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21 to 26.40.
How the zoom works
There is no dedicated zoom key. You sneak as you normally would, and the camera zooms in smoothly. Stand up and the view returns to normal. That is the whole feature set.
- Zoom triggers on crouch, with no extra controls to learn
- The camera zooms in smoothly while you sneak
- Does not disable achievements, according to the creator
- Needs no experimental toggles or other dependency packs
Installation
Open the .mcpack file with Bedrock and it imports on its own (double-click on Windows, open with Minecraft on phones and tablets). Then switch the pack on in your world's settings under the pack lists. If the import fails or the pack does not show up, the guide on fixing add-ons that will not work covers the usual causes, and the install walkthrough covers the basics.
Trade-offs and terms
The creator permits video and stream showcases with credit, and personal edits only. Re-sharing edited files and monetized link shorteners are not allowed, so share the original page rather than a re-upload. The addon is Bedrock only, and Java cannot load it.
Questions about Java Zoom.
4 questions
How do I zoom in with Java Zoom?
Crouch. The pack ties its zoom to sneaking, so the camera zooms in smoothly while you hold sneak and returns to the normal view when you stand back up. There is no separate keybind to set up.
Does Java Zoom disable achievements?
No. The creator's page states that the pack does not disable achievements, so you can keep it active in worlds where you are working toward them.
Does Java Zoom need experimental toggles?
No. The newest file lists no requirements, so you only import the .mcpack and switch the pack on for your world. No extra dependency pack is needed.
Can I use Java Zoom on Java?
No. It is a Bedrock addon, and Java cannot load add-ons of this format.
