Common Sense is a Bedrock-only addon from JF_Addons that targets the odd gaps in vanilla survival: items that do little, and features that never quite make sense. The common sense addon adds quality-of-life changes and a set of fun extras on top of the normal experience, and it stays achievements friendly.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3.
What it adds
The creator describes it as a mix of quality-of-life fixes and fun features, and keeps it in the Vanilla+ spirit rather than turning survival into a different mode. The project title carries an A&S Compatible label, and the screenshots were taken with the Action&Stuff texture packs. New features are collected from comments and the creator's Discord, so the addon keeps growing through numbered updates.
The latest hotfix, 1.7.1, fixed a bug where Java-style saturation was affecting vanilla regeneration. The addon asks for an up-to-date game, so update Minecraft before importing it.
Trinkets on or off
The pack ships in two flavours, one with Trinkets enabled and one with them disabled. The in-game configuration slider in the pack options is currently broken, so pick the file that matches the setup you want instead of relying on the slider.
How to install Common Sense
- 1.Pick the Trinkets on or Trinkets off file on the CurseForge page and save the .mcaddon.
- 2.Open it with Minecraft so it imports. Our Bedrock add-on install guide covers Windows, phones and tablets.
- 3.Create or edit a world and switch on the behavior pack and resource pack in the world settings.
- 4.If the pack does not appear or load, work through the steps in fixing add-ons that do not work.
The trade-off is the broken slider. Each file is about 1.4 MB, and switching between Trinkets on and off means switching files.

Questions about Common Sense Addon.
4 questions
How do I install the Common Sense addon on Bedrock?
Save the .mcaddon from the CurseForge page and open it with Minecraft, which imports the packs automatically. Then create or edit a world and activate the behavior pack and resource pack in the world settings. Choose the Trinkets on or off file first, because the in-pack slider is currently broken.
Does the Common Sense addon work on Realms?
It can, but Realms do not save the addon's configuration slider settings. For that reason the creator offers files with preset configurations for Realms players. Pick the one matching the Trinkets setting you want, since changing the slider afterwards will not stick.
Is the Common Sense addon achievements friendly?
Yes. The creator labels the addon as achievements friendly, so worlds using it should still be able to earn achievements. The label appears in the project title, next to an A&S Compatible label.
What is the difference between Trinkets on and Trinkets off?
They are two files of the same addon, one with the Trinkets feature enabled and one with it disabled. Because the configuration slider in the pack options is broken at the moment, downloading the matching file is the reliable way to choose.
