More Vanilla Weapons+ Complete is a Bedrock addon from Iced_Fox_Studios that widens combat well beyond the sword and axe. It is the answer if you searched for a more vanilla weapons addon that keeps familiar recipes and progression. It runs on Bedrock only, and Java cannot load it.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21 to 26.30.

What it adds

  • Katanas and shortswords for fast, mobile fighting.
  • Battle axes, hammers, maces, halberds and sickles, from heavy knockback to extra reach and harmful effects.
  • Elite shields that block melee hits and projectiles from the off-hand.
  • 3D boomerangs that arc out, strike and return to their owner.
  • Slingshots with matching ammunition, plus expanded crossbows that fire regular arrows.
  • Custom particles, sounds, animations and models.

Material tiers and abilities

Most weapon families come in Wood, Stone, Iron, Copper, Gold, Diamond and Netherite. They are not recolors. Durability, damage, speed, range, knockback and charge time shift between tiers. Gold favors speed, Diamond is the reliable high end, and Netherite carries the strongest effects.

Landing a hit can trigger active effects, and equipped gear gives passive bonuses such as Speed, Strength, Resistance, Haste, Regeneration or Absorption. Enemies can be slowed, weakened, poisoned, ignited, knocked back or hit with Wither. Hit flashes, trails and ground impacts make each attack readable without flooding the screen.

Installation

Download the files from the CurseForge listing, then follow the Bedrock add-on install guide if you have not imported one before. The newest release lists no required dependencies and names no experimental toggles.

  1. 1.Open the downloaded .mcaddon or .mcpack file with Bedrock so it imports.
  2. 2.Create or edit a world and open its settings.
  3. 3.Switch on the addon under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs.
  4. 4.Craft the gear in survival, or find it in the organized Creative categories.

The trade-off is scope. The addon adds many weapons with strong effects, so it shifts combat balance in any world that uses it. With no linked source code, there is also no public repository to check for issues.

3 questions

How do I install More Vanilla Weapons+ Complete on Bedrock?

Open the downloaded .mcaddon or .mcpack file with Bedrock and it imports on its own. Then open your world's settings and switch on the addon under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs. Start the world and the weapons are available through recipes and the Creative inventory.

Does More Vanilla Weapons+ Complete need experimental toggles?

The listing names no experimental features, and the newest release is shown as requiring nothing extra. If a world misbehaves, check the world settings first, since add-ons that use experiments need their named toggles enabled.

Can I use More Vanilla Weapons+ Complete on Java Edition?

No. It is a Bedrock addon, and Java Edition cannot load add-ons. Java players need a mod written for their own loader instead of this pack.
