New Bows Overhaul is a Bedrock addon from Iced_Fox_Studios that turns archery into an elemental system. It adds eight bows with matching arrows and five spider mobs that drop the strings used for crafting. It is built for survival, PvP and adventure play, and Java Edition cannot load it.

What it adds
Each bow pairs with its own arrow type, and each type changes what happens on impact.
- Lightning Bow summons lightning bolts that chain across the battlefield.
- Earth Bow traps targets in 3x3x3 dirt cages.
- Water Bow drenches targets and puts out flames. It is crafted with water buckets.
- Fire Bow burns mobs and terrain with projectiles that leave destruction trails.
- Frozen Bow freezes and paralyzes enemies.
- Ender Bow sends arrows through walls for attacks from odd angles.
- Powered Bow fires explosive, electrified arrows.
- XP Bow absorbs experience from every hit.
The spider mobs
Lightning, Earth, Fire, Frozen and Ender Spiders spawn in biomes that match their element, with Lightning Spiders in mountains and Earth Spiders in forests. They drop Electric, Earthen, Molten, Glacial and Ender String. Their attacks mirror the bows: lightning strikes, dirt cages, burning, multi-effect paralysis and teleporting in combat.
Installation
- 1.Open the downloaded .mcaddon or .mcpack file with Bedrock so it imports. The steps are in how to install add-ons on Bedrock.
- 2.Create or edit a world and open its settings.
- 3.Switch on the behavior pack and the resource pack under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs.
- 4.Load the world and look for spiders in matching biomes.

How do I install New Bows Overhaul on Bedrock?
Open the downloaded .mcaddon or .mcpack file with Bedrock and it imports on its own. Then open your world's settings and switch on the addon's behavior pack and resource pack under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs. On Windows you can also place the pack folders in the com.mojang directory manually.
Does New Bows Overhaul need any other addons?
No. The newest release lists no required packs or dependencies, so the addon works on its own. You only need to activate its behavior and resource packs on the world where you want the elemental bows and spiders.
Can I use New Bows Overhaul on Java Edition?
No. It is a Bedrock addon, and Java Edition cannot load addons in that format.
