New Shields Overhaul is a Bedrock Edition addon that turns blocking into a gameplay choice. It is Bedrock only, and Java Edition cannot load it. The set runs from a plain Wood Shield to a lightning-calling Dignified Shield.

What the shields do
- Dignified Shield summons lightning on attackers and grants Resistance II and Regeneration I.
- Elite Shield gives you Strength I and weakens the attacker.
- Glorious Shield boosts Speed and Regeneration together, suited to hit-and-run play.
- Knight Shield grants Strength I.
- Majestic Shield grants Resistance I and rings a bell on every block.
- Piglin Shield knocks foes back, sets them alight and plays the piglin anger roar.
- Sculk Shield inflicts Poison II on attackers.
- Wood Shield applies Slowness I, a modest starter defence.
- Amethyst Shield grants Resistance I and Absorption while stunning enemies.
- Cake Shield restores health and adds Saturation and Regeneration.
Every shield has its own particle colour, from electric blue for Dignified to pink for Cake, so you can read a fight at a glance.
How to install New Shields Overhaul
Download the file from CurseForge and open it with Minecraft Bedrock, which imports the pack. Then switch the packs on in your world's settings under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs. How do I install New Shields Overhaul on Bedrock?
Download the file from CurseForge and open it with Minecraft Bedrock so it imports. Then create or edit a world and activate the behavior pack and resource pack in the world settings. On Windows you can also place the pack folders manually under the com.mojang directory in behavior_packs and resource_packs.
Does New Shields Overhaul work on Java Edition?
