Nature Expansion is a Bedrock addon from AxovulpusGames_ that replaces the classic trees with more detailed, realistic models and adds a dynamic tree cutting system. It targets Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.130 to 1.21.132 and is a Bedrock-only pack. Java Edition cannot load it.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21.130 to 1.21.132.

What it adds

The replacement trees spawn in the same places as the vanilla ones. The addon began with a reworked oak and has grown since. The Loon Update added spruce, acacia and dark oak, and the Cherry Update followed it.

The Loon Update also brought the loon, an ambient bird that suits Minecraft nights. The addon was restarted from scratch at one point, and it no longer disables achievements.

Tree cutting and drops

  • Cut trees with a wooden, stone, iron, diamond, netherite or gold axe to speed up felling.
  • A whole tree can drop up to 8 logs, with a 25% chance of an apple and occasional sticks.
  • Silk Touch lets you harvest the branches and use them as decoration.
  • Trees drop acorns. Plant one to regrow the tree, and leave enough open space, because an acorn pops out of the terrain when there is no room.

Installation

The file is a .mcaddon. Open it with Minecraft and it imports automatically, then switch the behavior and resource packs on in your world's settings. Our Bedrock add-on install guide covers the steps on each platform.

The trade-off is scope. This addon focuses on trees, their drops and one ambient bird. The project does not state whether it works on Realms or dedicated servers.
