A Tinkerer's Legacy is a Bedrock addon by HaxTheCharizard that replaces vanilla progression with 25 weapon types, 14 materials and reworked recipes. It ships as a single .mcaddon file for Bedrock only, and it needs no experimental toggles.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20.70 to 1.21.111. The newest build optionally uses A Tinkerer's Legacy: Armory Additions.
What it adds
Blueprints sit at the centre. They craft the Tinkerer's Workstation and every tool and armor piece, and they can be placed on the top or sides of blocks to act as a crafting table for that material. The workstation merges a stonecutter with a crafting table and adds a few recipes of its own. Any matching overworld wood makes one.
- Six new ores: cobalt, lead, ruby, silver, tin and brimstone. Brimstone sits deep in the Nether, so bring fire resistance.
- Passive enchants tied to materials. Cobalt gives bursts of speed, lead can poison enemies (or backfire on you), obsidian lifesteals at low health, and silver weakens undead.
- A working quiver holding three stacks of arrows, usable in the inventory or chestplate slot. It feeds bows and crossbows but ignores potion and special arrows.
- Alloy blends ground from materials and smelted in a Blast Furnace. Ingots convert to four nuggets, and gems craft into shards.
- Chainmail armor becomes craftable without a blueprint.
Installation
Open the .mcaddon file with Bedrock, then switch on its behavior and resource packs in your world's settings. The addon does not touch player.json, so it coexists with most other addons. A guidebook inside the addon covers the core mechanics. New to the process? Follow the Bedrock add-on install guide, or try the troubleshooting guide if the packs do not appear.
The trade-off
This is a full progression rewrite, not a light tweak. Tools and armor depend on blueprints, nugget costs are halved, and early crafting habits stop working. Players who want vanilla pacing will find it intrusive.
