Blossom Blade's enchanted sword glowing purple in its pedestal beneath a cherry grove canopy at dusk

Blossom Blade is a small Minecraft data pack that adds one new structure: a stone pedestal holding an iron sword enchanted with Smite and Sharpness, waiting inside a cherry grove biome. It is built entirely from vanilla blocks, so no matching resource pack is needed, and its current build targets Minecraft Java 1.21 and 1.21.1.

What Blossom Blade adds to Minecraft

The pack drops a single pedestal structure into cherry grove biomes as they generate. Break the deepslate base and pull the sword free to get an iron sword pre-enchanted with Smite and Sharpness, useful against both regular mobs and the undead. Since the structure and the sword's model, texture, and enchant glint are all vanilla assets, they render correctly on any client, whether or not that player has the data pack installed.

Installing Blossom Blade

  1. 1.Download the data pack zip file from the Blossom Blade Modrinth page.
  2. 2.Drop the zip into your world's datapacks folder, or the server's world folder for a dedicated server.
  3. 3.Run /reload in an existing world, or let a newly created world load it automatically.
  4. 4.Explore existing or newly generated cherry grove biomes to find the pedestal structure.

Loader ports and version support

Blossom Blade ships primarily as a data pack, but joshieman also publishes Fabric, Forge, and Quilt mod builds of the same content for players who would rather install a mod than manage a datapacks folder. Fabric, Forge, Quilt, and the data pack itself all reached Minecraft 1.21.1 in the same October 2024 release. It pairs naturally with other structure-focused packs like Structory for players who want more than one new landmark to find.

Multiplayer and world compatibility

Blossom Blade only needs to run on the server or in the single-player world; connecting players do not need to install anything themselves to see the structure or pick up the sword. The pack is compatible with any other world generation data pack or mod as long as the vanilla cherry grove biome itself is left intact, since that is where the structure is anchored. Players who want more custom weapons to pair with it can look at Simply Swords.

Questions about Blossom Blade.

5 questions

What does Blossom Blade add to Minecraft?

Blossom Blade adds one new structure to the cherry grove biome: a small pedestal holding an iron sword enchanted with Smite and Sharpness. It is a lightweight data pack built entirely from vanilla blocks, so it needs no resource pack to display correctly.

How do I install Blossom Blade?

Download the data pack zip from Modrinth, place it in your world's datapacks folder or the server's world folder for a dedicated server, then run /reload or restart the world. New and existing cherry grove biomes generate the structure afterward.

Does Blossom Blade work with Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge?

Yes. Alongside the data pack, joshieman publishes Fabric, Forge, and Quilt mod builds of the same content. Fabric, Forge, Quilt, and the data pack all reached Minecraft 1.21.1 in the same release. NeoForge is the exception: its newest available build only supports up to Minecraft 1.20.4.

Does Blossom Blade need a resource pack?

No. The structure and the enchanted sword use only vanilla blocks and vanilla item models, so nothing about the pack requires a matching resource pack or any client-side install.

Does Blossom Blade work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. The data pack only needs to be installed on the server. Connecting players do not need to install anything on their end to find the structure or use the sword it drops.
