ArdaCraft is the Fabric modpack built by the ArdaCraft team for their own multiplayer server, a long-running project recreating J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth in Minecraft. It targets Minecraft Java 1.20.1, needs a matching client and server, and exists to get players kitted out for that one server rather than to run as a general-purpose singleplayer pack.

Recreating Middle-earth in Minecraft

The ArdaCraft server has spent years rebuilding Middle-earth in Minecraft, using Conquest Reforged's expanded block palette and close attention to Tolkien's own writing to shape its geography. The gallery above shows some of what that looks like: Edoras, Rivendell, Minas Tirith, Isengard, the Misty Mountains, and the caves of Moria. The modpack installs the client-side mods, resource pack, and shader edit needed to see the build the way the server intends. It also unlocks a separate plots world where anyone can build with Conquest Reforged blocks, alone or with friends, without touching the main map.

What's included

  • Conquest Reforged and Create, the two main content mods behind ArdaCraft's building and machinery
  • The ArdaCraft Resource Pack, custom textures made by the ArdaCraft team
  • Xonks-Bliss-ArdaCraft-Settings, the team's own edit of Bliss Shaders used with permission from its original creator
  • ArdaPaths, ArdaRegions, ArdaMobs, ArdaGrass, Arda LODs Downloader, ArdaSettings, and Axiom Overrides, custom mods the team built for server-specific mechanics
  • A set of performance and visual mods aimed at keeping the modded server smooth

Installing ArdaCraft and joining the server

  1. 1.Download the ArdaCraft .mrpack file from its Modrinth page.
  2. 2.Import it into a Modrinth-compatible launcher such as the Modrinth App or Prism Launcher, following our modpack install guide.
  3. 3.Setting it up by hand instead means installing Fabric loader for Minecraft 1.20.1 first, then adding ArdaCraft's mod list on top.
  4. 4.Launch the profile once to let Fabric and the bundled mods finish installing, then join the ArdaCraft server using the address on the pack's own install guide.

License and permissions

Modrinth lists ArdaCraft's own manifest under the MIT License, which covers the pack's custom mods (ArdaPaths, ArdaRegions, ArdaMobs, ArdaGrass, Arda LODs Downloader, ArdaSettings, and Axiom Overrides) and the ArdaCraft Resource Pack. It does not extend to bundled third-party mods like Conquest Reforged and Create, which keep their own separate licenses. The included shader edit, Xonks-Bliss-ArdaCraft-Settings, is used with the original Bliss Shaders creator's permission rather than under MIT.

Questions about ArdaCraft.

5 questions

How do I install ArdaCraft?

Download the .mrpack file from ArdaCraft's Modrinth page and import it into a Modrinth-compatible launcher such as the Modrinth App or Prism Launcher. Launching the profile once installs Fabric and the bundled mods automatically. From there, join the ArdaCraft server using the address listed on the pack's own install guide.

Does ArdaCraft work with Forge or NeoForge?

No. ArdaCraft only ships a Fabric build, and every mod in the pack is chosen to work on Fabric. There is no Forge or NeoForge version of this modpack, so players on those loaders would need to rebuild the mod list themselves rather than reuse this pack.

Which Minecraft version does ArdaCraft support?

ArdaCraft's Modrinth project covers Minecraft Java 1.19.2 through 1.20.1, and the current build (version 2.7.2, published August 2026) targets 1.20.1 on Fabric. It has not been updated for Minecraft's newer 26.x releases.

Can I use ArdaCraft without joining the ArdaCraft server?

Not really. The modpack exists to get players ready for the ArdaCraft community server and its Middle-earth build. If you don't want to work on the main map, the server offers a separate plots world for free building with Conquest Reforged blocks, but the pack has no standalone singleplayer campaign of its own.

Is ArdaCraft a licensed Lord of the Rings product?

No. ArdaCraft is a fan-made recreation of Tolkien's Middle-earth built by an independent community, with no license from the Tolkien Estate or the film studios. The pack's own manifest and custom mods are released under the MIT License, while bundled third-party mods like Conquest Reforged and Create keep their own separate licenses.
