DREAD - A Horror Survival Pack is a dread modpack for Minecraft Java, made by Arrenek for Forge. It removes every vanilla hostile mob and replaces them with grotesque creatures that stalk and chase you through pitch-black caves and foggy nights. It works solo or with friends, and the current DREAD Reborn release is a full overhaul of the earlier packs.

What DREAD Reborn changes
The aim is constant unease. Nothing in the pack lets you settle into a safe routine, and every task is meant to feel like it could be your last. A proximity chat mod is included, so lose your friends in the dark and you really are alone.
- Multiple main biomes and seasons
- Thirst, realistic physics, and new shaders and textures
- A small set of guns, kept few on purpose for a hunting and survival feel
- New horrors in place of every vanilla hostile mob
Installation
The pack is distributed on CurseForge only, and copies on other sites are described by the creator as fake. Install it through a launcher that reads CurseForge packs, as covered in how to install a Minecraft modpack. If you need the loader on its own, see installing Forge.
Server pack and limits
There is no dedicated server pack yet. To host, copy the pack files to the server as normal and remove the mods that only run on the player's side. Bugs go to the creator's Discord, since comments on CurseForge are rarely read.

Is there a server pack for DREAD?
Not currently. The creator says one may come later. In the meantime, move the pack files to your server as you would for any modpack and remove the mods that only work on the player's side. Proximity chat is part of the pack, so friends can play together.
Why does the Nether not work in DREAD?
The Nether has been removed because it has not been modded to fit the pack. The creator plans to either update it or let players buy Nether items through custom villager trading, which is planned for a later release.
How do I load the flare gun in DREAD?
Hold the flare gun and crouch while right-clicking. A menu opens where you place the flare inside.
What is there to do in DREAD?
Right now it is a horror survival pack with no set goal. Villager trading, a weapons update and quests with missions are planned, and the creator hopes to add a final horror boss eventually.
