DeceasedCraft is an urban zombie apocalypse modpack for Forge, built around scavenging, shooting and base building in large cities. It runs for both singleplayer and multiplayer, and it is inspired by Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die. The tone is semi-realistic survival, not arcade horror.

Loaders and versions

  • Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.1.

What you play

Cities are generated with The Lost Cities and split into 5 hand-crafted districts, using more than 60 custom buildings by architect _C70_. Hordes scale with your individual playtime, so staying put gets harder every day.

  • 100+ weapons and guns, plus 20+ armour sets across 4 tiers.
  • 15+ special zombies spread across the districts.
  • A tech tree built on Create and Immersive Engineering, able to automate almost everything.
  • 8+ custom NPCs with quests and trading, a skill tree, parkour, diet-based hearts, thirst, temperature and body-part damage.
  • Vehicles to find abandoned in the city or build yourself, and an infection you can cure with a golden apple.

Installation and hardware

Install through a proper launcher, following the modpack install guide, because the bundled configs prevent key binding conflicts. Do not use Optifine, since Embeddium is already included.

  • Singleplayer needs 5GB at minimum and 8GB is recommended.
  • Hosting needs 8GB at minimum and 10GB or more is recommended.
  • The DH Edition used in the teaser trailers wants 10GB for singleplayer and 12GB or more for hosting, plus a powerful PC.
  • Online hosts must enable command blocks, as multiblocks and vehicle spawns depend on them.

The dedicated host pack is not a substitute for a player install, because it lacks the optimisation mods. Shaders are optional, and the screenshots use Complementary Reimagined. If you did not spawn in a medium or large suburb residential district, generate a new world.

Questions about DeceasedCraft.

3 questions

How much RAM does DeceasedCraft need?

Singleplayer needs at least 5GB, with 8GB recommended. Hosting a multiplayer world needs 8GB at minimum and 10GB or more is recommended. The heavier DH Edition used for trailers asks for 10GB in singleplayer and 12GB or more when hosting.

Can you finish the DeceasedCraft beta?

No. The 5.10 beta lacks the Wasteland and Abyss districts, so endgame content and high-tier gear are missing. For a complete experience the creator points players to 5.5.5 until the 6.0 release arrives.

Should I use Optifine with DeceasedCraft?

No. The pack already bundles Embeddium, which covers much of the same ground. Adding Optifine is discouraged. Shaders are optional if your PC can handle them.
