Optimum Fuse is an open-source optimization modpack for Minecraft Java that improves frame rates and adds OptiFine-style visuals without drifting from the vanilla look. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge, while its Quilt and Forge releases have stopped. Install it on the player's own machine only. The optimumfuse modpack is inspired by OptiFine.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.21.5.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1.
- Quilt: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.20.2, builds stopped after January 2024.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after May 2024.
What's included
Every optimization in the pack is based on Exceptionally Optimized. On top of that, the creator, UltimatChamp, lists these headline features.
- Shaders
- Fancy tooltips
- Cool effects and 3D particles
- Better player animations
- OptiFine parity for the features players miss
The full mod list sits in the Dependencies section of each release on Modrinth, so you can check exactly what gets added before importing.
How to install Optimum Fuse
The pack is a Modrinth modpack file. A launcher that reads it fetches the listed mods and the right loader for you. The modpack install guide walks through the launcher side, and the Fabric guide helps if you prefer to set up the loader yourself.
- 1.Open the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or another launcher that imports Modrinth packs.
- 2.Add Optimum Fuse from Modrinth and choose the Fabric or NeoForge release that matches your Minecraft release.
- 3.Let the launcher fetch the mods, then start the profile.
Which loader to pick
The creator's page is written around Fabric, and Fabric is where the pack keeps moving, with its latest release published in November 2025. NeoForge releases have not been updated since November 2024, so choose Fabric when your Minecraft release allows it. The Quilt and Forge releases are frozen, so treat them as legacy options for older setups.
Questions about Optimum Fuse.
3 questions
Does Optimum Fuse replace OptiFine?
It is inspired by OptiFine and lists OptiFine parity among its features, so it covers much of the same ground with a bundle of mods. It is not OptiFine itself. The full list of included mods is in the Dependencies section of each Modrinth release.
Which loaders does Optimum Fuse support?
Fabric and NeoForge are the current loaders. Quilt and Forge releases exist for older setups but have stopped receiving updates, with Quilt ending in January 2024 and Forge in May 2024.
Can I use Optimum Fuse on a multiplayer host?
No. The pack is client-side and dedicated hosting is not supported. You install it on your own machine, and its optimizations apply to your own play.
