2032 World Height is a mod and data pack that raises the building limit to Y=2031 in all dimensions. It runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, or as a plain data pack with no loader at all. It must be installed on the server, while players joining are not required to have it.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.17 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it changes

The pack does one thing: it stretches the vertical space of every dimension. Players can stack blocks far above the normal ceiling. It does not alter terrain generation on its own, so the extra space above the usual peaks is empty until you fill it.

Installing the mod or the data pack

  • Mod route: install the loader for your Minecraft release, then put the mod file in the mods folder and launch with that loader's profile. Our guides cover Fabric and Forge or NeoForge.
  • Data pack route: use the data pack file instead.
  • Start a fresh world with it enabled. Existing worlds are officially unsupported.

Existing worlds and custom world generation

Adding it to a world that already exists is not supported. The creator links a tutorial for moving old chunks into a new world made with the pack, which is the workaround.

World generation mods and data packs may hardcode the height and clash with this one. Tectonic is the named example. Its mod form is not supported. With its data pack form, open /data/minecraft/dimension_type/overworld.json inside the Tectonic datapack folder and change "logical_height" and "height" to 2096.

Questions about 2032 World Height.

3 questions

Does the 2032 world height data pack work on existing worlds?

Officially no. It is meant for new worlds. The creator links a tutorial for transferring existing chunks into a world created with the pack, so a move is possible, but it is a manual workaround. Back up the old world before you try it.

What happens if I remove the 2032 World Height mod or data pack?

On Minecraft 1.21.2 and later, removing it corrupts the world. On 1.17 to 1.21.1, everything built above the normal height limit simply disappears. Either way, plan to keep it installed for the life of the world.

Does 2032 World Height work with Tectonic?

Only with Tectonic's data pack form. The Tectonic mod is not supported. Custom world generation mods and data packs may hardcode the world height, so in the data pack, open /data/minecraft/dimension_type/overworld.json inside the Tectonic datapack folder and change "logical_height" and "height" to 2096.
