Auto Aim is a small mod that adjusts the flight of an arrow toward its target. It runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the same behaviour also ships as a plain datapack. It must be installed on the multiplayer host, while players joining are optional.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies; some builds for 1.19.4 to 1.21.8 require Fabric API.
- Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.19.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What auto aim does
The effect is deliberately light. By default, all arrows target entities. It is a small adjustment of the arrow to the target.
The mod is filed under cursed, equipment, game-mechanics and adventure, and that fits. It softens bow skill, so it changes how ranged fights feel.
Switching it off for yourself
Arrows aim at entities by default, and that includes you. To stop arrows being aimed at you, run the first command below. The second command returns to the default.
- /function auto_aiming:cheat to stop arrows being aimed at you.
- /function auto_aiming:no_cheat to go back to the default.
Installation
Pick the route that suits your setup. The loader route needs a matching loader installed first, and the mod installation guide covers the basics. Fabric players on some older builds also need Fabric API.
- 1.Loader route: put the mod file for your loader and Minecraft release in the mods folder, then start the loader's profile.
- 2.Datapack route: a plain datapack ships alongside the loader builds, and it requires no dependencies.
- 3.On a multiplayer host, install it there. Players who join do not need it.
