Axiom is a Fabric mod that turns Minecraft into a real-time world editor. It layers Builder Mode enhancements on top of vanilla Creative mode and adds a full Editor Mode with 3D-style camera controls, selection tools, and terrain sculpting, so builders can shape a world far faster than placing blocks by hand. Where WorldEdit works through chat commands and wand items, Axiom trades commands for direct-manipulation tools with real-time previews.

How to use Axiom and open the editor menu

Axiom sits on top of Minecraft's normal Creative mode controls, so most of the toolset lives behind two keys. Hold Left Alt in Creative mode to open the Builder Mode context menu, which swaps hotbars, toggles building capabilities, and adjusts flight speed up to 10x. Press Right Shift to switch into the full Editor Mode, where selection, painting, drawing, heightmap, and manipulation tools appear in movable windows arranged around a 3D-style camera.

  • Builder Mode: hotbar swapping, quick capability toggles, and a flight speed slider
  • Editor Mode: cuboid and magic-wand selection tools with boolean logic
  • Editor Mode: painting and replace tools that swap blocks without breaking them first
  • Editor Mode: heightmap and manipulation tools for sculpting, smoothing, and distorting terrain

Does Axiom work with Forge or NeoForge?

No. Axiom only builds for the Fabric mod loader, and the project's own listing marks Forge support as unsupported. There is no NeoForge build either. Anyone running a Forge or NeoForge modpack cannot add Axiom to it, since Moulberry has not published a build for either loader.

Using Axiom on a server

Axiom is not a Paper or Spigot plugin. It is a Fabric client mod with server-side permission tiers for multiplayer use. Non-commercial players can use every tool freely in singleplayer, on localhost, and on plot-based build servers such as Builders Refuge and The Bakery. For a private multiplayer server outside those cases, the server owner requests a multiplayer whitelist through the Axiom Discord, and large public servers can request a permanent whitelist the same way.

How to install Axiom

Axiom installs like any other Fabric mod, and it requires Fabric API to run.

  1. 1.Install Fabric Loader for the target Minecraft version
  2. 2.Download Fabric API and Axiom from Modrinth
  3. 3.Place both jar files in the .minecraft/mods folder
  4. 4.Launch Minecraft using the Fabric profile and enter Creative mode

Axiom installation walkthrough

Which Minecraft versions does Axiom support?

Axiom tracks new Minecraft releases closely. The current build supports Java Edition 26.2, and Moulberry has kept it updated back through the 1.20 and 1.21 release lines, including 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11. Always match the Axiom build to the Minecraft and Fabric API version listed on its Modrinth page before installing.

Questions about Axiom.

5 questions

Is Axiom free to use in Minecraft?

Yes, for non-commercial building. Axiom is free to install and use in singleplayer, on localhost, and on plot-based servers like Builders Refuge and The Bakery. Professional builders who earn income from building work need a paid commercial license from Moulberry to unlock full multiplayer support and server APIs.

Who made Axiom?

Axiom is developed by Moulberry, who also runs the project's Discord, Patreon, and documentation site. The mod runs on the Fabric mod loader and requires Fabric API to load.

Does Axiom work on Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

No. Axiom is a Java Edition mod built for the Fabric mod loader. There is no Bedrock Edition version, and Bedrock's add-on system does not support the kind of in-game world editing tools Axiom provides.

Where can I download Axiom?

Axiom is distributed through Modrinth and Moulberry's own project site. Download it through one of those channels rather than a third-party mirror, since Axiom ships under an all rights reserved license.

Does Axiom support Forge or NeoForge?

No. Axiom only builds for Fabric, and the project marks Forge support as unsupported on its own listing. There is currently no NeoForge build either.
