The Bartering Station mod adds one utility block that gives gold ingots to piglins and collects whatever they hand back. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge, and it must be installed on both sides, so players and the host both need it. Forge support has ended.

Loaders and versions

How the station works

Put gold ingots into the block and it passes them to piglins in range. Every result lands in the station's own slots. Add hoppers to feed in more gold and to pull the returns out, and the whole loop needs no hands.

  • Up to 6 piglins in range receive gold every 15 seconds.
  • One ingot is taken from a single slot per cycle, so spread gold across all slots.
  • For more than 6 piglins at once, place more stations.
  • If gold is not being spent, move the piglins closer.

Installation

  1. 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge, whichever loader the mod build was made for.
  2. 2.Add the mod file and each required library to the mods folder. Puzzles Lib is needed on both loaders.
  3. 3.Put the same files on the host that runs the world, since the mod is required on both sides.
  4. 4.Launch with the loader's profile.

Configuration and credits

Config files sit in the config folder as MOD_ID-client.toml, MOD_ID-common.toml or MOD_ID-server.toml, depending on the type. Not every type exists for every mod. The floating gold ingot rendering uses code from Vazkii's Quark, taken from its matrix enchanting table renderer.

The trade-off is the dependency load. Fabric needs three libraries beside the mod, and the requirement on both sides rules out joining a host that does not have it.

Questions about Bartering Station.

4 questions

How many piglins can one bartering station serve?

One station gives gold to up to 6 piglins in range every 15 seconds. To barter with more piglins at the same time, place additional stations. If gold is not being spent, the piglins are probably too far away, so move them closer to the block.

Does the bartering station mod work on multiplayer?

Yes, but the mod is required on both sides. Players and the host must each have the mod and its required libraries installed in the mods folder. Each station then hands gold to up to 6 piglins in range every 15 seconds, and more stations cover more piglins.

Can I use Bartering Station on Forge?

Forge support has stopped. Releases for Forge ended in February 2024 at 1.20.4. For anything newer, use the Fabric or NeoForge files, which continue to receive updates for current releases.

How do I get items out of a bartering station?

Attach hoppers to the station. They can insert more gold and extract the items piglins return. The station stops working when all its result slots are full, so the returns need to be extracted for it to keep running.
