BetterGrassify is a Fabric and Quilt mod that brings OptiFine's Fancy and Fast better grass modes to Minecraft Java. It is a bettergrassify mod for players who want that look without installing OptiFine. It runs on the player's side only and has no role on a multiplayer host.

- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.3 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, optionally Cloth Config API; some builds for 1.20 to 1.21.3 require YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) and Fabric API; some builds for 1.19.3 to 1.20.6 require Fabric API and MidnightLib; some builds for 1.19.3 to 1.20.6 require Continuity, Fabric API and MidnightLib.

Installing it

- 3.Put every file in the mods folder, as the Java mod install guide describes, then launch the loader's profile.
Settings and trade-offs
Dependencies differ from one build to the next, so match them to the exact file you pick. The mod is needed on the player's side only, and a multiplayer host does not support it.

Does BetterGrassify work on NeoForge?
Native NeoForge files exist but are old, and builds stopped in 2025. The creator's advice is to run the Fabric builds on NeoForge through Sinytra Connector. Forge has the same problem, with its last builds from early 2025, so Fabric or Quilt is the safer route.
Do I need BetterGrassify on a multiplayer host?
No. The mod is required on the player's side and is unsupported on a multiplayer host. Each player who wants the look installs it on their own machine.
Is BetterGrassify the same as OptiFine's better grass?
It brings OptiFine's Fancy and Fast better grass to Fabric and Quilt, so you get the same style of grass without installing OptiFine. It also adds better snowy grass and better snow, and it is fully configurable.
