Carry On is a Minecraft Java mod that lets you lift single-block tile entities, such as chests, furnaces, droppers, and spawners, and pick up smaller mobs, using nothing but empty hands. Whatever is inside stays inside: contents, state, and NBT data all move with the block. It runs on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, with builds reaching Minecraft 26.2 on all three loaders, and works on both the client and the server.

How to pick up and carry something

  • Sneak (the default keybind can be rebound) and right-click a supported tile entity or mob with two empty hands to lift it.
  • Walk it to where you want it and right-click a valid spot to set it back down.
  • Only one tile entity or mob can be carried at a time, and carrying anything applies a slowness effect while it is in your hands.
  • A config file lets server owners blacklist specific mods, blocks, or mobs from being carried.

Supported loaders and Minecraft versions

  • Fabric: current release build 2.11.0, reaching Minecraft 26.2.
  • Forge: current release build 2.11.0, reaching Minecraft 26.2.
  • NeoForge: current release build 2.11.0, reaching Minecraft 26.2.
  • Older builds go back to Minecraft 1.12.2, so check the version dropdown on the source page before downloading for an older pack.

Compatibility and dependencies

Carry On has no required dependencies on any loader, so it drops straight into a Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge instance on its own. It targets tile entities and small mobs generically, which is why it works with chests and machines added by other mods, including tech mods, without needing per-mod support.

Questions about Carry On.

5 questions

What does the Carry On mod do?

Carry On lets you lift single-block tile entities like chests, furnaces, droppers, and spawners, plus smaller mobs, and carry them around using only your empty hands. Contents, state, and NBT data stay intact, so you can move a loaded chest or a working machine without emptying it first.

Does Carry On work with Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge?

Yes. Carry On ships separate builds for all three loaders, with the current release reaching Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge alike. Older builds cover versions back to 1.12.2, so match the download to your loader and version.

Can I use Carry On on Bedrock Edition?

No. Carry On is a Java Edition mod and only runs with a Java modloader. The Minecraft Marketplace sells a separate Bedrock add-on called Carry More, which is a different, unrelated product made for a different edition of the game.

Does Carry On need any other mods installed?

No. Carry On has no required dependencies on Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge, so a single download is enough. It works generically with tile entities and mobs from other mods without needing separate compatibility patches.

Is Carry On safe to install?

Carry On is distributed through Modrinth and CurseForge under the LGPL-3.0-only license, with the source code public on GitHub. Download it from the official Modrinth or CurseForge project page rather than a third-party mirror.
