Create Hangars is a data pack and NeoForge mod that adds procedurally generated hangar structures to your world. It is an addon for Create Aeronautics, so the required libraries must be installed first. It runs on both sides, but the host is the one that must have it.

Loaders and versions

  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21.1. The newest build requires Create, Sable and Create Aeronautics.

What the hangars add

Each hangar is a worldgen structure with chests on shelves. The loot is aimed at getting started with Create and Aeronautics. You can find loose components and materials, and sometimes fully built mechanisms.

  • Materials such as iron nuggets, andesite alloy, springs, string, slimeballs and copper sheets.
  • Parts such as small and large cogwheels, redstone magnets and burners.
  • Aeronautics pieces such as white sails, white symmetric sails and white envelope blocks.

Eight variants exist. They are the plains, birch, taiga, dark oak, cherry, jungle, savannah and bamboo hangars. Bamboo is a rarer variant of the jungle one. The author says more may follow. The design was inspired by a hangar made by Askidelta.

Installation

There are two routes. The first is the NeoForge mod file, which goes in the mods folder next to its dependencies. See how to install Minecraft mods on Java Edition and how to install Forge and NeoForge if you need the loader first. The second is the plain data pack file, also made for 1.21.1.

Trade-offs

This is a narrow addon. It adds structures and loot, not new mechanics, and it does nothing without Create Aeronautics and its libraries. The host must have it installed, while joining players do not need it.

Questions about Create: Hangars (Aeronautics).

4 questions

Is Create Hangars a data pack or a mod?

It ships as both. There is a NeoForge mod file and a plain data pack, each made for Java 1.21.1. Both need Create, Sable and Create Aeronautics in their newest release, so pick the route that suits how you already run your world.

Does Create Hangars work on multiplayer?

Yes. It is required on the host and optional for players who join, so only the host needs to install it. The author suggests using Lootr in multiplayer worlds. The hangars themselves are worldgen structures with chests on shelves holding early Create and Aeronautics parts.

What loot do the hangars contain?

Chests on shelves hold early Create and Aeronautics items. Examples are andesite alloy, springs, cogwheels, redstone magnets, burners, copper sheets and white sails. Some chests may even hold fully built mechanisms.

Which hangar variants can generate?

There are eight variants. They are plains, birch, taiga, dark oak, cherry, jungle, savannah and bamboo. The bamboo hangar is a rarer take on the jungle one. The author says more variants may arrive later.
