The Cyclic mod by Lothrazar adds a large spread of unrelated items, tools, machines, enchantments and a few potions to Minecraft Java. It runs on NeoForge and Forge, and its files are tagged for both sides, so it loads in singleplayer and in multiplayer. It has no single theme, which is the point and also the catch.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies; some builds for 1.18.2 to 1.21.1 require FLIB.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.10.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires FLIB; some builds for 1.12.2 to 1.20.1 need no dependencies; builds for 1.10.2 need no dependencies.
What it adds
The CurseForge summary reads tools, machines, gear, potions, villagers, fully configurable. The content spans technology, food, magic and equipment, so it sits comfortably in a kitchen-sink pack. Cyclic has appeared in packs such as Enigmatica 2, All The Mods 2 and FTB HermitPack.
The trade-off is focus. Nothing here replaces a dedicated tech or magic mod, and the item list is wide enough that you will want a guide to find your way around.
Learning the mod
From 1.16 onward, install Patchouli and use the Cyclic Guide Book item to learn what is in the mod. The 1.12 releases used a similar guide book written for Guide API. Example configs and scripts for modpack developers are published as well.
Installation
- 1.Pick the loader and Minecraft release that match your instance, then get the file from the CurseForge page.
- 2.Put the file, plus any library your chosen release requires, in the mods folder.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile. If you have not set one up, follow how to install Forge and NeoForge.
Configuration
Every release generates its config files in the config folder beside mods. Recent releases such as 1.16.5 write cyclic.toml and cyclic-client.toml, while 1.12.2 uses cyclicmagic.cfg and cyclic_ores.cfg. Example configs, bug reports and crash logs go through the GitHub issues page.

Questions about Cyclic.
3 questions
Does Cyclic work on multiplayer?
Yes. Its files are tagged for both sides, so it loads in singleplayer and in multiplayer. Put the mod in the mods folder on each machine involved, and check the requirements of your chosen release before joining a world, since some releases need a library mod.
Does Cyclic have a Fabric release?
Cyclic is listed for NeoForge and Forge only. Fabric and Quilt are not among its supported loaders, so an instance running either of them cannot load it. Pick a NeoForge or Forge instance that matches the release you want, then add the mod file.
How do I learn what Cyclic adds?
Install Patchouli and check out the Cyclic Guide Book item, which is in releases for 1.16 and newer. It is the suggested way to learn a mod that adds a large variety of unrelated items, tools, machines, enchantments and a few potions. For 1.12, a similar guide book is written in Guide API, so the setup differs there.
