Diagonal Windows is a diagonal windows mod for Minecraft Java that lets glass panes and iron bars connect diagonally. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge, and older Forge releases exist but have stopped. It must be installed on both client and server.

- Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.4, builds stopped after November 2024. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib, optionally Forge Config Screens; builds for 1.20.4 require Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
What it changes
Vanilla panes and bars only join along straight lines. This mod lets them connect diagonally, which opens up new ways to shape windows and detailed builds. It is a small change, but structures read as smoother and more natural.

Installation
- 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for your Minecraft release. The guides for Fabric and Forge and NeoForge cover it.
- 2.Drop the mod file and every required library listed above, such as Puzzles Lib, into .minecraft/mods.
- 3.Put the same files in the mods folder of any server you join or host.
- 4.Launch with the loader's profile.
Configuration
Settings, where the mod offers any, can be changed in-game through Mod Menu on Fabric. Otherwise edit the toml files in .minecraft/config, named with the mod ID and a client, common or server suffix. The block tag is the main control for what stays non-diagonal.

Does Diagonal Windows need to be installed on the server?
Yes. The mod is required on both the client and the server, so a multiplayer server must have it in its mods folder, and every player joining must install it too.
Does Diagonal Windows work with modded glass panes?
It supports blocks from other mods whenever possible. If a modded pane or bar should keep its normal straight connections, add it to the diagonalwindows:non_diagonal_windows block tag and it will be excluded from diagonal joining.
Is Diagonal Windows available for Forge?
Forge releases exist for older Minecraft releases, but Forge builds have stopped while Fabric and NeoForge builds continue. For recent releases, choose one of those two loaders.
