The Stoneworks mod fills the gaps in building with vanilla stone. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge, and older Forge releases exist but stopped in January 2024. Every player and the host need it installed, because it is required on both sides.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.4, builds stopped after January 2024. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port, optionally Forge Config Screens; builds for 1.18.2 to 1.20.1 require Puzzles Lib.
What it adds
Each stone type from the base game gets new variants: cobbled versions, bricks, tiles, pillars and shingles. Most of the new blocks can also be turned into stairs, slabs and walls. Everything is crafted in the stonecutter, so the whole set stays survival-friendly and needs no new workstation.
The aim is detail without clutter, from cottages to castles. Textures come from Burack, and ShadowClaimer's Masonry mod inspired the project.
Installation
- 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for the Minecraft release you want. The Fabric guide and the Forge and NeoForge guide cover the steps.
- 2.Put the Stoneworks file and every required dependency in the mods folder inside .minecraft.
- 3.Install the same files on the host or dedicated machine, then start the loader's profile.
Configuration and trade-offs
Config files sit in .minecraft/config as TOML files named after the mod ID. The trade-off is the strict both-sides requirement and the Forge cutoff. Anyone staying on Forge is limited to releases up to 1.20.4.
Questions about Stoneworks.
3 questions
Does Stoneworks work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, but it must be installed on both sides. Players and the host both need the mod and its required libraries, so a multiplayer world cannot run it for only one side. Fabric and NeoForge need different libraries, so match them to the loader in use.
How do you craft Stoneworks blocks?
Place the stone in a stonecutter and pick the variant you want. Bricks, tiles, pillars, shingles and cobbled types are all cut there, and most of them can also become stairs, slabs and walls. No other crafting station is needed.
Does Stoneworks still support Forge?
Forge releases stopped in January 2024, and the last one targets 1.20.4. Newer releases only exist for Fabric and NeoForge. If you play on a newer release, switch to one of those two loaders.
