Easy Anvils is a Fabric and NeoForge mod that reworks how anvils behave. Items stay in the interface after you close it, prior work penalties ease off, and repair costs stay reasonable for longer. It is needed on both the client and the server. Forge builds have stopped.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.4, builds stopped after May 2024. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port, optionally Forge Config Screens; builds for 1.18.2 to 1.20.1 require Puzzles Lib.
What changes at the anvil
- Persistent contents: items remain inside the anvil after you close it, and they are rendered on the block in the world.
- Lighter penalties: repairing and renaming no longer hit rapidly escalating prior work costs.
- Cheaper enchanting: applying enchanted books costs less, and expensive operations are far less restrictive.
- Free renaming, with formatting codes for colours and text styles in names.
- Anvil care: use iron blocks to repair a damaged anvil, and anvils are less likely to break in use.
Repair costs, prior work penalties, durability and other mechanics can all be tuned in the config. The mod is largely based on tfarecnim's Anvil Tweaks and Anvil Repair mods.
Installation
- 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for the Minecraft release you play.
- 2.Add the required libraries listed under loaders and versions, such as Puzzles Lib, to the mods folder.
- 3.Place the Easy Anvils file in the same folder, on the client and on the server.
- 4.Launch with the loader profile.
