What Fadeless works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric, Quilt |
| Minecraft versions | 1.20, 1.20.6, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 |
| Environment | Client |
Fadeless is a client-side mod for Fabric and Quilt that removes the long fade-out animations you sit through when loading into Minecraft. If you searched for the fadeless mod because the transition from the Mojang splash screen to the main menu feels slow, this is the fix. Forge and NeoForge releases exist but have stopped.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.20 to 26.1 need no dependencies.
- Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.20 to 26.1 need no dependencies.
- Forge and NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.1, builds stopped after July 2024. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it removes
The core job is cutting the fade from the Mojang splash screen to the main menu, and the fade after a texture reload. Both are removed.
Fadeless is a fork of No Fade, whose original author UltimateBoomer gave DerpDerpling permission to reupload and maintain it. Compared with the original, it adds support for 1.20 and later, Forge and NeoForge, and removes more fading animations.
Configuration
A config lets you toggle individual fades. Chat fade and subtitle fade are the two the creator names, so you can keep the loading screens instant while leaving other text behavior as you prefer.
- Splash screen to main menu fade, removed.
- Fade after reloading textures, removed.
- Chat fade and subtitle fade, switchable in the config.
Installation
Install a matching loader first. The Fabric guide covers that step, and the mod installation guide covers the rest. Drop the Fadeless .jar into your mods folder, and add Fabric API if you pick the newest release, since it requires it.
Questions about Fadeless.
4 questions
What does the Fadeless mod do?
Fadeless removes fade-out animations that slow down loading. That includes the fade from the Mojang splash screen to the main menu and the fade after reloading textures. A config also lets you toggle chat fade and subtitle fade.
Is Fadeless client-side only?
Yes. It is required on the client and unsupported on a server, so install it in your own mods folder only.
Is Fadeless the same as No Fade?
Fadeless is a fork of No Fade. UltimateBoomer made the original, and gave DerpDerpling permission to reupload and maintain it. The fork adds support for 1.20 and up, Forge and NeoForge, more removed animations and a config.
Does Fadeless need Fabric API?
The newest Fabric and Quilt releases require Fabric API. Some older releases for 1.20 to 26.1 need no dependencies. Check the file you pick before launching, and install Fabric API when it is listed.
