Integrated Dynamics

A technology mod for building cable networks that read the world, process values and act on it. Transfer, crafting and terminals come from separate addons.

Integrated Dynamics is a Minecraft Java mod for NeoForge and Forge that turns automation into network building. It works in singleplayer and on multiplayer worlds, and it needs two library mods to run. The author describes it as a mix of bundled redstone, BuildCraft gates and Applied Energistics 2-style networks.

Loaders and versions

  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.3. The newest build requires Cyclops Core and Common Capabilities.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.12.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Cyclops Core and Common Capabilities.

How the networks work

Readers capture properties of the outside world and import them into the network as variables. Writers act back on the world. In between, the Logic Programmer combines variables with operators, and a Variable Store makes the result available to the whole network.

  • Operators can be used as values, so map, filter and reduce are available for fine-grained sorting.
  • Recipes are a native value type. Define them yourself or read them from machines with the Machine Reader.
  • Parts support static and dynamic offsets, so they can operate on targets at a distance.
  • Displays show variable values for debugging, and facades hide cables inside the surrounding world.

Installing Integrated Dynamics

  1. 1.Set up the matching loader by following the Forge and NeoForge guide.
  2. 2.Put the mod file, Cyclops Core and Common Capabilities into the mods folder.
  3. 3.Launch with the loader profile and open the guidebook On the Dynamics of Integration. It is given on first spawn, or crafted from a book and two crystalized menril chunks.

Addons and trade-offs

The base mod handles logic. Moving items, fluids and energy comes from Integrated Tunnels, autocrafting from Integrated Crafting, and network overviews from Integrated Terminals. Integrated Scripting, Integrated NBT, Integrated REST and Integrated Mekanism extend it further, and the last one pairs with Mekanism.

Admins on multiplayer worlds can run /integrateddynamics networkdiagnostics to open a window with tick time tracking for each network part. JEI support is available for the crafting recipes.

Questions about Integrated Dynamics.

4 questions

How do I get the Integrated Dynamics guidebook?

Every player receives the guidebook On the Dynamics of Integration on first spawn. If you lose it, craft a new one by combining a regular book with two crystalized menril chunks.

Does Integrated Dynamics need other mods?

Yes. Cyclops Core and Common Capabilities must be installed alongside it, or it will not run. Addons such as Integrated Tunnels, Integrated Crafting and Integrated Terminals are optional and add item transfer, autocrafting and network overviews.

Can Integrated Dynamics move items by itself?

The base mod focuses on reading values, processing them and writing back to the world. Transferring items, fluids and energy is handled by the Integrated Tunnels addon, so install it if you want logistics.

Does Integrated Dynamics work on multiplayer worlds?

Yes. The files are tagged for both sides, so install it on the host and on players. Admins also get a networkdiagnostics command that tracks tick time for each network part.
