Macaw's Roofs is a decoration mod for Minecraft Java that replaces stair-block roofing with purpose-made roof blocks. It ships for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and has to be installed on both sides of a multiplayer setup. If you want to build a roof with actual roofs, this is the block set sketchmacaw made for it.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.21.11 need no dependencies.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What the mod adds

  • Roofs, Steep Roofs, Lower Roofs and Top Roofs.
  • Awnings, with striped variants in every colour.
  • Rain Gutters in every colour, which fill up while it is raining.

Installation

  1. 1.Install the loader you play on, following the guide for Fabric or for Forge and NeoForge.
  2. 2.Pick the mod file that matches your loader and your Minecraft release, then place it in the mods folder.
  3. 3.On Fabric, add Fabric API to the same folder, since the newest Fabric file needs it.
  4. 4.Put the same files on the dedicated server if you play multiplayer, then start the loader's profile.

Modpacks and older releases

Modpack use is allowed with credit to the creators and a reference to the Modrinth page. A backport to 1.15.2 and lower is very unlikely, though a final 1.12.2 release could happen at some point. Translations go to the creator on GitHub or Discord.

Questions about Macaw's Roofs.

4 questions

How do I install Macaw's Roofs?

Install Fabric, Forge or NeoForge for your Minecraft release, then drop the matching mod file into the mods folder and launch with that loader's profile. On Fabric, add Fabric API as well. Forge and NeoForge files need no other mods.

Does Macaw's Roofs work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, but it is needed on both sides. The mod is listed as required on the client and on the server, so install it on the server and on every player's game. It runs only with the loader its build was made for, installed for the same Minecraft version.

Can I use Macaw's Roofs in a modpack?

Yes. The creators allow modpack use as long as you credit them and reference the Modrinth page. The project is listed as all rights reserved and links no source code, so those two conditions are the permission stated.

Will Macaw's Roofs be backported to older Minecraft releases?

A backport to 1.15.2 and lower is very unlikely, according to the creator's page. A final 1.12.2 release could happen at some point, but nothing is promised. Current builds target newer releases only.
