Magnetic is a telekinesis mod for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge that sends item drops and experience straight into your inventory. It works in singleplayer and multiplayer, and a separate Paper plugin build covers plugin hosts. Inspired by the Hypixel SkyBlock enchantment of the same idea, it removes the cleanup after mining, chopping and fighting, so loot no longer hides in tall grass or scatters across a cave.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric and Quilt: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), Fabric Language Kotlin and Fabric API, optionally Mod Menu; some builds for 1.20 to 1.21.4 require Fabric Language Kotlin and Fabric API; some builds for 1.20.1 to 1.20.6 require YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), Fabric Language Kotlin and Mod Menu; some builds for 1.20 to 1.20.1 require Fabric Language Kotlin; some builds for 1.19.2 to 1.19.4 require Fabric Language Kotlin and Fabric API; some builds for 1.19.2 require Fabric Language Kotlin, Fabric API and Silk.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21.1 to 26.3. The newest build requires YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) and KotlinLangForge.
How it works
- 1.Equip a tool with the Magnetic enchantment.
- 2.Break a block or kill a mob.
- 3.Drops and XP travel straight to you.
You find the enchantment through the enchantment table, loot, or librarian trades. With the Villager Trade Rebalance experiment on, look for a desert librarian. Drops can fly toward you at a speed you set, or skip the animation for instant pickup. A full inventory loses nothing, and Magnetic can warn you with a sound, chat message or title, each with its own cooldown.
Configuration
The enchantment works out of the box. For more control, edit `magnetic.json` or use the in-game config screen, then apply changes with `/magnetic reload` (OP level 3).
- `conditionStatement.raw` sets when Magnetic activates, combining ENCHANTMENT, SNEAK and PERMISSION with && and ||. An empty statement means always active.
- `ignoreBlocks` and `ignoreEntities` exclude drop sources by ID or tag.
- `buckets` lets drops caused by fluids from a bucket you placed trigger pickup.
- `animation.canOtherPlayersPickup` decides whether other players can intercept flying items.
Installation and compatibility
Put the mod file and its dependencies in the `mods` folder, as covered in how to install mods on Java Edition. The Paper plugin goes in `plugins`, needs no dependencies, and lets players join without the mod, though the mod is recommended for the full experience.
Magnetic is tested with FallingTree, Right Click Harvest, KleeSlabs, Tree Harvester and Veinminer on Fabric and NeoForge. On Paper it is tested with mcMMO, AuraSkills and the TreeCapitator datapack.
Questions about Magnetic.
4 questions
Where can I find the Magnetic enchantment?
Magnetic appears in the enchantment table, in loot, and in librarian trades. With the Villager Trade Rebalance experiment off, librarians from any biome can offer it. With the experiment on, look for a desert librarian, since it sits in the desert's common enchanted-book pool.
Does Magnetic work in multiplayer?
Yes. It supports singleplayer, modded multiplayer on Fabric and NeoForge, and Paper hosts. Players joining a Paper host do not need to install anything, although the mod is recommended for the full experience.
Do I have to use the enchantment?
No. Change the condition statement to make Magnetic always active, or switch it to SNEAK or PERMISSION. You can also combine conditions, for example enchantment for players and a permission override for staff.
What happens when my inventory is full?
Your drops stay safe rather than vanishing. Magnetic can alert you with a sound, a chat message or a title, and each alert type has its own cooldown so it does not spam you.
