MaLiLib is masa's shared library mod for Minecraft Java, supplying the config screens, keybind system, and rendering utilities that Litematica, MiniHUD, and Tweakeroo are all built on. It has no gameplay features of its own, you install it because one of those mods needs it. Fabric is the actively maintained loader, with builds current through Minecraft 26.2, while the Forge, LiteLoader, Rift, and Ornithe builds are all several years old.
Installing MaLiLib on Fabric
Fabric is where new MaLiLib builds land, current through Minecraft 26.2 as of the 0.29.5 release in August 2026. Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version first if you have not already.
- 1.Download the MaLiLib .jar for your Minecraft version and loader from Modrinth.
- 2.Drop the file into your .minecraft/mods folder.
- 3.Add whichever mod needs MaLiLib, such as Litematica, to the same folder.
- 4.Launch Minecraft with the Fabric profile selected.
Why Litematica, MiniHUD, and Tweakeroo need MaLiLib
MaLiLib grew out of the shared code between masa's client-side mods, and it now carries their common configuration system, keybind handling, and rendering helpers in one place instead of duplicating that code in every mod. Litematica's schematic overlay, MiniHUD's info displays, and Tweakeroo's gameplay tweaks all read their settings through MaLiLib's config screens and hotkey system. None of them will load without it present in the mods folder.
Forge, LiteLoader, Rift, and Ornithe support
Only Fabric gets current MaLiLib builds. The last Forge build is version 0.10.0-dev.21+beta.1, a pre-rewrite alpha for Minecraft 1.16.5 published in January 2024. LiteLoader stopped at 0.54.0 for 1.12.2 the same month, and Rift stopped at a 1.13.2 build. Ornithe has a 0.60.2 build for 1.12.2, but it needs the separate Ornithe loader rather than vanilla LiteLoader. None of these older loader builds have moved since early 2024, so match whichever loader your other masa mods already use rather than expecting new features on anything but Fabric.
- Fabric: current through 26.2 (build 0.29.5, August 2026).
- Forge: 1.16.5 only, alpha build from January 2024.
- LiteLoader: 1.12.2, build 0.54.0.
- Rift: 1.13.2, build 0.10.0-dev.19+arne.1.
- Ornithe: 1.12.2, requires the Ornithe loader, build 0.60.2.

Questions about MaLiLib.
5 questions
How do I install MaLiLib?
Download the MaLiLib .jar for your Minecraft version and loader from Modrinth, then place it in your .minecraft/mods folder alongside Fabric Loader. MaLiLib does nothing by itself, so you also need at least one mod that depends on it, such as Litematica, MiniHUD, or Tweakeroo, in the same folder before launching.
Does MaLiLib work with Fabric?
Yes, Fabric is the actively maintained loader. MaLiLib 0.29.5 is the current release, built for Minecraft 26.2, and every new update ships for Fabric first. If you are on a recent Minecraft version, install Fabric Loader and download the matching MaLiLib build from Modrinth.
Is there a Forge version of MaLiLib?
Only an old one. The last Forge build is version 0.10.0-dev.21+beta.1, a pre-rewrite alpha for Minecraft 1.16.5 published in January 2024 and never updated since. Forge players stuck on 1.16.5 can still use it, but anyone on a current Minecraft version needs the Fabric build instead.
Do I need to configure MaLiLib?
No. MaLiLib has no settings of its own to adjust. It supplies the config screen framework, keybind system, and rendering utilities that Litematica, MiniHUD, and Tweakeroo use to build their own options menus, and it runs in the background once installed. Configure those mods directly instead.
Which Minecraft version does MaLiLib support?
MaLiLib covers Minecraft 1.12 through 26.2 across five loaders, but not every loader tracks the current version. Fabric is current through 26.2. Forge, LiteLoader, and Rift all stopped years ago on older releases, and Ornithe's latest build targets 1.12.2 through its own loader.
