Nether Chested is a nether chested mod from Fuzs for Fabric and NeoForge. It adds a Nether-themed chest with 54 slots and stacks up to 8 times larger than normal by default. It suits farms, mining runs and big storage rooms where vanilla chests clutter fast. Forge support has stopped, and the mod needs to be installed on both the player side and the multiplayer host.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.20.4, builds stopped after September 2024. The newest build requires Puzzles Lib; builds for 1.20.4 require Puzzles Lib and Forge Config API Port.
What the chest does
Each slot holds far larger stacks than normal, giving a small footprint for a very large stockpile, with visuals, sounds and particles that fit Nether progression.
- 54 slots, with stacks up to 8 times larger than normal by default.
- Nether-themed look, sounds, particles and interactions.
- Capacity and other storage settings can be adjusted to suit your play style.
Installation
- 1.Install a loader that matches your release. See the guide to installing Fabric or the Forge and NeoForge setup guide.
- 2.Place the mod file and every required library from the list above in the mods folder, .minecraft/mods by default.
- 3.Launch with the loader profile.
- 4.On a multiplayer host, repeat the same steps so both sides run the mod.
Configuration
Settings can be changed in-game through Mod Menu on Fabric. Otherwise edit the toml files in .minecraft/config, which are named after the mod ID with a client, common or server suffix. Not every type of file exists for every mod.
The idea comes from cadaverous_queen's original Nether Chest mod, whose chest texture is reused here. TyIer on Discord inspired the chest interface.
Questions about Nether Chested.
3 questions
Does Nether Chested work on multiplayer?
Yes, but it must be installed on both sides. The host and every connecting player need the mod, along with the same required libraries for their loader. A host missing the mod will not work with players who have it, so check everyone's mods folder before joining.
Does Nether Chested work on Forge?
Forge releases exist for older releases, but they stopped in September 2024 while Fabric and NeoForge kept going. Players on current releases should use Fabric or NeoForge. Forge is only worth considering when you are staying on an older release that it covers.
How is Nether Chested different from the old Nether Chest mod?
Nether Chested is a separate mod by Fuzs, inspired by cadaverous_queen's older Nether Chest mod and reusing its chest texture. It targets current Java releases on Fabric and NeoForge, and it offers a 54-slot chest with stacks 8 times larger by default.
