What No Void Structures works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Minecraft versions | 1.19, 1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.4 |
| Environment | Client, Server |
The no void structures data pack stops common vanilla structures from generating over empty space in floating island world presets, such as Aetherial Islands. It exists as a data pack plus older Fabric and Forge mods, and both of those loaders have stopped. It must be installed on the host of the world, and joining players do not need it.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.3 to 1.21.4, builds stopped after July 2024. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19 to 1.20.5, builds stopped after April 2024. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it changes
In floating island style presets, common vanilla structures can generate in the void. This pack prevents that. Mineshafts are not affected.
The logic is data-driven through Lithostitched, so a pack author can edit a few JSON files to get different behaviour. The pack also works as an example of how to block structures in the void with Lithostitched. Its creator, Klinbee, rewrote the project this way because the original mod was inflexible, incompatible with some setups and broke superflat structures.
Installation
- 1.Pick a route. The data pack is the current one. The Fabric and Forge mods are the old 1.0.0 releases.
- 2.For the data pack, install Lithostitched first, since the pack requires it.
- 3.For a loader mod, put the file in the mods folder for the matching loader and version. The guide to installing mods on Java Edition covers the steps.
Trade-offs
The scope is narrow. It handles structures over the void and nothing else, and it leaves mineshafts alone. The data pack route also adds Lithostitched as a hard requirement, while the old loader files need no dependencies.
Questions about No Void Structures.
3 questions
Does No Void Structures work with Aetherial Islands?
The pack is aimed at floating island style presets, and Aetherial Islands is the example its creator names.
Does No Void Structures affect mineshafts?
No. Mineshafts are explicitly excluded, so they generate as they normally would. The pack covers other common vanilla structures that would otherwise appear floating over empty void.
Is No Void Structures needed by players joining a multiplayer world?
No. It is required on the host side and optional for players who join.
