Repurposed Structures is a server-side Fabric mod that gives every vanilla structure a range of biome-themed variants. Where vanilla generates one dungeon type, you find cold stone variants in taigas, mossy jungle editions, and sandy desert renditions scattered across the world. It supports Fabric and Quilt from Minecraft 1.18.2 onward and requires Fabric API and MidnightLib.

What Repurposed Structures adds

The mod extends almost every vanilla structure category with biome-contextual variants.

  • Dungeons: stone, mossy, sandy, and jungle flavors matching the surrounding biome.
  • Strongholds: reskinned for Nether and End contexts.
  • Temples: desert, jungle, and swamp variants with new loot tables.
  • Villages: bamboo, cherry, swamp, and nether settlements with matching textures.
  • Jungle Fortress: an overworld counterpart to the Nether Fortress.
  • Ancient City variants and Mangrove structures from Minecraft 1.19.4 onward.
  • Overworld City: a rare large settlement for late-game exploration.

How to install Repurposed Structures on Fabric

  1. 1.Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version.
  2. 2.Download Fabric API and MidnightLib from Modrinth and drop both .jar files into your mods folder.
  3. 3.Download the Repurposed Structures .jar and add it to the same mods folder.
  4. 4.Start the game or server. New structure variants generate in newly explored chunks only.

Compatibility

Repurposed Structures works alongside most worldgen mods including Terralith, William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld, and Tectonic, since it modifies which structures spawn rather than the terrain shape. The mod includes a config to disable specific structure categories, which helps when running alongside YUNG's Better Dungeons or YUNG's Better Strongholds.

  • Fabric and Quilt: supported.
  • NeoForge and Forge: use the separate Repurposed Structures NeoForge edition on Modrinth.
  • Client install: not required. Server-side only.
  • MidnightLib: required dependency for configuration.
  • Fabric API: required.

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install Repurposed Structures on Fabric?

Download Fabric Loader, then grab Fabric API and MidnightLib from Modrinth. Add all three .jar files plus Repurposed Structures to your mods folder. Restart the game or server. New structure variants only appear in chunks generated after installation.

  • Does Repurposed Structures need to be installed on the client?

No. Repurposed Structures is server-side only. Players joining a server that runs it do not need the mod installed locally. In singleplayer, it runs as part of the integrated server automatically.

  • What dependencies does Repurposed Structures require?

Two dependencies are required: Fabric API and MidnightLib. Both are free downloads from Modrinth. Without either, the game will fail to load.

  • Does Repurposed Structures work with Terralith or other worldgen mods?

Yes. Repurposed Structures only adds structure variants rather than altering terrain shape, so it is generally compatible with biome and terrain overhaul mods. Use the config to disable overlapping structure types when conflicts arise.

  • Is there a Forge or NeoForge version of Repurposed Structures?

Yes. A separate NeoForge edition is available on Modrinth. The edition covered here is for Fabric and Quilt only.
