The Ribbits mod adds swamp villages populated by tiny frog villagers called ribbits. It runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, and it has to be installed on both sides of a multiplayer session.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1. The newest build requires Geckolib, Cloth Config API, Fabric API and YUNG's API, optionally Mod Menu; builds for 1.20.1 require Geckolib, Cloth Config API and YUNG's API.

What the ribbits do
Ribbits sometimes sit down in groups to play music, and you can join in.
- Merchant and fisherman ribbits trade for various items, including the new ribbit plant blocks and maracas.
- Sorcerer ribbits occasionally cast spells that buff the player.
- Gardener ribbits water crops.
- At night, ribbits return to their homes by themselves.
To move a ribbit, right click it with amethyst. That resets its home point to wherever it stands.
Installing Ribbits
- 1.Install the loader that matches your version (see the guides for Fabric or Forge and NeoForge).
- 2.Put the Ribbits file and every required library from the list above into the mods folder.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile. Anyone joining a multiplayer world needs the same setup.
Trade-offs and credits
The focus is narrow: one mob family, its villages and its trades. That suits a player who wants a swamp settlement with personality, not a broad overhaul. Music is by wesleybenjamin, sound effects by Scratchy, structures by joakota and the logo by joshesque. Another mod named alongside it is Creeper Overhaul, which reworks the vanilla creepers.

Does the Ribbits mod work on multiplayer?
Yes, but it must be installed on both sides. Players and the multiplayer host both need Ribbits plus its required libraries, built for the same loader. A host without it will not work with players who have it, and the reverse is also true.
How do I move a ribbit to a new home?
Right click the ribbit with amethyst. That resets its home point to its current position. Ribbits return to their homes by themselves at night, so set the new spot where you want them to settle.
Does Ribbits work on Bedrock?
No. This is a Java mod that loads through Fabric, NeoForge or Forge, and Bedrock cannot load mods in that format. Pick the loader that matches your Java setup and install the required libraries beside it.
